Firstly, I think I’m going to go ahead with getting us a server, but I’m going to leave it until a weekend when I know we’ll have some good numbers to get it going. The last couple of nights have seen us peaking at 6 people online, which I think is enough for us to get a server going during the week, but the weekend will always be the best time to start things off. In the meantime I need to figure out the server settings, and while we’ll tackle the whole hardcore thing maybe in another thread, I just want to know for now whether we’d prefer the server be set on Vietnam or Vanilla BC2 as default?
As far as I know we’ll have the option to swap between the two games, but since this will probably require a server restart we’ll not want to be doing it too often unless the server is empty. So for now, which do you prefer as a default setting?
regrding the hardcore settings, I do feel that we get a better type of player on HC than non HC, although it might be harder to start the server off! If we are changing it from vietnam to vanilla with a server restart we canb do the same with hardcore/non HC as well
I think we’re split down the middle with our opinion on HC settings, so I was thinking of going ahead with a sort of happy medium between the two, but I’ll make a seperate post on this later this afternoon.
Ok, i’ve voted for ‘Nam as i’im gonna get it this week… as for hardcore, i’m easy… as long as it doesn’t end up as one of these gimp maps where you don’t start off with all the upgrades and gadgets i’ve been working my arse off for…
