My first real foray into proper RPG games was Fallout, and it rocked. I did try others in the D&D stylee but they were a real let down and not my thing at all. It was ultimately that which put me off trying a new RPG since Fallout2.
Peasant: “Oh Link, can you help me round up my wayward chickens?”
Link: “You think I haven’t got anything better to do with my life?”
Peasant: “No.”
Link: “OK, let me get my net.”
The only RPG I ever played was Broken Arms or Lost Arms or somesuch shite on the PS1. Never ever again, roll on tomorrow when I get my new Sims exp pack 😀
Eve Online – it’s only good when you get involved in the fighting but then it’s really good!
Oh and incidently, my interest in it has nothing to do with it being “futuristic”. I don’t actually role play as such I just like to shoot a lot of things, and the quality of teamplay in eve is just out of this world (no pun intended).
Oooops I voted last option yet I do like RPG’s.. I like that HOMAM Dark Messiah.. I have to say igniting an arrow in fire and setting other things on fire when you fire at it.. is quality!
I think I’d prefer a Barbarian *no ghey potion or wizzardry magic shite) RPG game though
