Well I have been playing BF1942 last weekend and during this week and all I can say is its great. just as a good as I remember it.
I am actually good at it too ๐
I am hoping for tonight and like mags said we have been saying that on tyhe front page all week!
Theres plenty of servers to go round and would definately be nice to play with friends again for 1 day at least! you can all play together on BF2142 6 days a week!

I just logged into clanforge and checked the BF1942 profile. your map is not in the rotation on the profile but its on the MPUK server. so it can be run on the server fine on sunday ๐

Yep BF1942 rules hehe.
I also load faster than most into the levels which is nice and not the other way round like in Bf2!

I played it again today.
Sorry guys but the game is still a brill game to play. I mean its definately got to be the gameplay that is so good, as i had a blast in it.
I agree with spugs and vic in that BF1942 has just the right pace in it. BF2 and BF2142 are just too quick for me, I would go play counterstrike for that ๐
Now yeah I want me Battlefield 1942 2!
Also if any of you remember the Merciless mod for BF42! that makes the graphics look ace and added blood too i believe. also the cool Battle of the Bulge textures with snow on the vehicles!
planes are flyable again and had geat fun dive bombing in the stuka and scooping ppl up in it ๐
also over 2000 ppl online playing it during the day today! so its still plenty popular
Heh i spent the afternoon on varous servers playing BF1942 and have to say its great. still a very fun and enjoyable game to play.
well come on guys, get some racing action done ๐
Meganes and ETCC are the most commons server just now.
If u dont have a key, download the game and you can play in demo mode ๐

well if u have a beefy pc then dont worry lol, but i am stuck with a Radeon 9800
and a GF6800GT PCI-E that i cant use and dont know if it works or not ๐

My DFP is seems to have been suprisingly good considering its really a PS2 wheel. cant think of any PS2 game that would actually benefit from it lol and probably the number of pc users buying that wheel outdoes the ps2 ppl lol.
The Megane Trophy 2005 mod is good ๐
If you can find it, get the low rez skin pack, as it may kill your Fps a bit otherwise.
Alternative is to open the texture files in photoshop with the nvidia dds plugins and resize and resave at 1024×1024 instead of 2048×2048
All patches were downloadable. got the 1.6 full patch and 1.6 to 1.61 patch from multiplay.co.uk.
tried it and connected fine ๐ had some fun games last night.
TBH the graphics are not that bad and at the end of the day it is the gameplay that it excels in.
also i can run it at 1600×1200 with full AA and AF and get very nice fps ๐

I am sticking with my DFP for now as it has been the best wheel i have got so far.
ppl do play with keyboard and game pad, but you need to adjust the controllwer settings to cope with it.
if you are finding it hard to drive in a straight line, try norrowing the steering range on the controller and also if u set the steering lock on your cars setup to be less it is easier.
e.g the f1 cars. i found it hard to drive straight when doing nearly 200mph ๐
so i reduced the steering lock on the car setup and it makes it much more easier to control.

Hell our corp has a pos that generates 800 million isk a month! so not so bad! lol
God That brings back a lot of fond memories.
Did so much with BF1942. I really miss it to be honest.
I could quite easily play it again. but to many think BF2 and BF2142 are better.
But sorry that intro theme and sequence just blows them out of the water ๐
I am up for playing this again easily, used to play it for 8 hours straight into the early hours ๐
