Sounds to me like you got an extra year out of something that should have been binned already…but i too am no expert. Good luck and maybe an excuse to get something new for xmas?
I bought Xbox 360 3 months ago but tbh i still play way more games on the PC and i’d probably wouldnt bother getting a console again, definetly think about if you really want/ need it for other than games ie video streaming etc. I was a little disapointed in the graphics but then it is based on 5+ year old PC archetecture and it was shocking piss poor without a HDMI cable.
Bonus… press the On button and go, no fucking about.
Yeah it should be automatic turks but im not sure mine has updated, no changes that i noticed and the intro still plays for two long, tis strange watching it with Gandalfs voice so often.
Anyways yeah the AI seems abit crap but then i havnt tried Deity yet, the City states add a good way of waging mini war without a full on civ attacking you, a good addition imo. Its yet to grab me but then the Civs have been rainy sunday type of game for me for ages now.
ps, am i the only one who played a good few hours before figureing out how to get units across the seas, i actually ended up googleing for transport ship types 😳
Got it last week, it seems to have been simplified from civ4 but this isnt nesesarly a bad thing, though there does seem to be less shiney toys and tech to play with. Ive never played a Civ on-line so i’ll have to give it ago sometime but it’s always seemed to be far too time consuming game for on-line. Lots of bugs still need ironing out, for some reason i have to watch the start-up animation through over 50% before i can get to the menu. 🙄

Gah it’s bonfire night & fireworks over the road tomorow…. but i would really like to see an APC rolled by Slack Bladder for old times sake. I’ll try to be there at some point

Its definetly addictive but i was bored after a week. Ive made all the weapons and diamond tools, armour etc, found a massive cave system that i explored down to the bedrock and then back up to the surface a fair trek away from my original entrance. Killed lots of baddies in the dark depths, its very atmospheric considering the Doom graphics and dodgy sound affects but the retro feel works in a strange way. The zylaphone effect of the arrow launcher bad chaps is usually a ‘ohhohh’ moment.
But it is just an alpha and once bought all future updates are free, i just hope the early success dosn’t send the developer off the rails, this game really needs multiplayer with baddies in the caves.
After saying all that i might just go and spend a few hours fanying about building a house out of wood or something, or maybe a log fire……

I bought an xbox and this, tis quite a good game though online im getting my arse handed to me. I still think mouse/ keys are better for this type of game

PC demo available on Steam and the full game released in the next few weeks.
Played the demo and it looks prettier than GTA4 and yet runs much smoother.
