Participantsaw this last night,
4/10and it only gets the 4 for Alicia Keys in dem hot pants, the (M82?) sniper love and the brutal (but not nearly brutal enough) killing of Affleck as early as possible.
Have they still not realised that Ryan Reynolds is only good for ‘Van Wilder’ type films AND NOTHING ELSE.

ParticipantI really like NOLF2, very underated I thought. Think I got it bundled with a GFX card.
So I take it that it Steam no longer:
Adds 25 minutes to you PC startup.
I don’t have in my startup can’t tell ya.
Takes 3 days to download anything off it.
I got the whole Orange Box (ok I had HL2 already) in 3 hours.
Randomly jumps up from the start menu and minimises/crashes any game you are currently playing (unless it’s already on Steam, in which case this never happened – conveniently).
turn off notifications or switch ‘friends to offline
Gets up in the middle of the night, drinks all your milk and leaves your fridge door open.
yea still does that, most annoying.DoD source ftw!!!!

I spent a few evenings reading the guides and forums of this Site and now can play downloaded games and movies of the less than legal varitey.
It depends how much you can be arsed to do tbh, i eventually installed a whole new 3rd party firmware on mine which lifts sonys stranglehold and allows you too run just about anything you want, but new firmware aint for the faint hearted, read the guides…twice.
Deffinetly get hold of one of the GTAs, they are a must (have to disagree with Judge about file size, ive got Vice stories on a 1gig card with space for save games 😉 ) But cant comment on many other games, i mostly use mine for movies on the move.
was that with all the soundtrack too? how much PSP pr0n do you have? 🙂

ParticipantI hated Steam when it first came out but now I have to tip my hat to it. I just copied the whole lot to another drive (deleted client.bob file) and no problems and now to another PC and still no problems no need to sit there waiting to install my games again off crappy CDs the download some 200 meg patch from some slow a$$ wanky host. New communities stuff is pretty tidy too tons off geeky stats etc + you can see how sh1t at games your m8’s are.
Portal is genius although maybe a bit short and not as taxing as it perhaps could have been. That said, I had no expectations of it so it’s a very nice bonus and certainly makes the discounted pre-release Orange Box even more of a steal.
SOIA do it m8 it’s a different beast now. It’s so nice not to have to f**k about with patches, no cd cracks and all that other bollox even scratched disk nightmares etc + the back catalogue on steam is immense now too. They are successfully cutting out a big chunk of middleman and passing the saving on.

ParticipantHaven’t played much of the newer stuff because my new PC rawks but of the older titles I enjoyed….
GTA Liberty or Vice City Stories
Lumines2 (apart from the Music)
Wipeout Pure
Gradius Collection
Metal Gear Acid (steer clear if turn based gets on your knackers I thought i’d hate it but I really got into it certainly a good time killer)
Virtua Tennis
Test Drivedepends on the size of the memory stick m8, GTA will finish off a 2gig on it’s own.
If it’s devhooked up you just chuck the image on the memory stick in a folder called /PSP/GAME/ISO I think and select it through Devhook. Never used it for movies but i imagine thats easier than games.

ParticipantIt’s so ‘high level’ it’s not worth taking any notice of. There’s clearly been no design or anything, thats where the cool stuff will come from. If it is genuine, the modern day setting doesn’t really surprise me but I have to admit I’d have prefered WW2 tbh.

ParticipantNo the sensible ones are the ones that avoid the game totally and instead post pictures of birds pissing themselves on WoW threads.

ParticipantEggy does a fair bit off GIF stuff can’t remember what he used..Pinnacle Studio or something I vaguely recall?

Oh and its got fuck all to do with stats. No one gives a tinkers about stats and no one ever mentions it. No one stat pads on our server and no one goes badge hunting anymore. Its just a convenient bogeyman that 2142 naysayers love to pin all the blame on.
Just incase this was a aimed at my comments
For you maybe not fella, but you simply can’t say ‘no one gives a tinkers about stats’ this may not be so apparent now because it’s all old hat if you unrank the server you’ll see a difference, that was my point. I know that for a fact, it makes a difference to the way some people approach the game and to the type of players the server attracts because I’ve witnessed it first hand allbeit on a different game so it’s far from just ‘a convienent bogeyman’ as far as I’m concerned.
I haven’t really played 2142 heavily, not like the other BF’s but that was because of issues surrounding it’s lack of stability not because of stat whores. Playing in an effective squad is entirely different, thats a great part of the game and I hadn’t made comment about that. XDC for me has always been about playing the game as it was meant to be played and if that’s the only beef then that definitely does have to be sucked up.
Out of pure interest if the XDC server is empty who plays on unranked servers ever, or how many times have you played on an unranked server for any other reason than to see all the unlocks?

p.s. Judge has a Server?
yea that would be the big GAME MONITOR in my sig m8 🙂
probably going to TF2 it very soon, bit tired of CS:S trouble is I seem to be alone in that, but seeing is the cost is split 3 ways I should get my way!!

ParticipantIt’s not really fair to expect other people to play in a way they don’t enjoy, just to accomodate your playing style. ‘spawn somewhere less intense’ was my tactic in BF2 nearly all the time.

ParticipantI’d say it was absolutely about the stats. I put stats on my CS server and people started to get pi55ed off, had to put the force team balance on in the end because of all the stacking had to turn off ‘add bot’ so people couldn’t stat pad using cr4p bots. No doubt about it, it definitely promotes a different approach to playing online games. I can see both side of the issue here (having been in both positions) I like having stats on but I’m still debating if it’s worth it if it turns people off the server. As my server doesn’t see much traffic it’s difficult to say but I do know that the better players leave fast when they get auto swapped to a team thats getting a pounding (I think thats really anal so I don’t care about it) but luckily have the power to turn them off.
No easy solution here you either straw poll opinion into ‘unranking’ the server at the risk of isolating many players or you accept that that is the game and live with it.
The other option is to play TF2 which only displays ‘positive stats’ 🙂
