Anyone able to post the Hussars TS details, as I’ve reinstalled it a few times since last on there?

Not sure if this forum is viewable to the public, so here is the thread on our forum.

Silversides – we specifically arranged it for today to avoid clashes with Bonfire night parties next Saturday.

I even managed to roll a helicopter in BF BC2 last night – so I still have that magic touch 🙂

Just in case the password clue was too obscure, it is “scrum”

The planned (such as it is) event will be between 20:00 and 22:30, after that we may play on until people drift off or reboot the server to take the password off it.

I’ll be passwording the server from about 19:30 for the scrum. No set teams (let autobalance do its worst).
For those that don’t have the Hussars teamspeak details, address is hssr.ath.cx:9987. Password is yuri

    Final Itinerary
19:30 – Server is rebooted with password.
20:00 – Kick off event – map list set to Conquest for maps White Pass, Panama Canal, Laguna Alta, Valparaiso, Atacama Desert. mixed teams.
21:00 – (or whenever Atacama Desert loads) – Team Quad Bike Slalom (see below)
21:30 – (or whenever Arica Harbour loads) Arica Harbour Rush map (2 rounds)
22:00 – Restricted weapons Duelling on Arica Harbour conquest (see below).
22:30 – finish; server will be rebooted back to normal.

    Team Quad Bike Slalom
Two members from each team (depending upon number of quad bikes available) gather at the US base to start the race. All other teams mates must arm themselves with Assault rifles with rifle grenades and move onto the raised areas of the A, B or C flags (either on the hills at A or C or on the deck of the ship wreck at B ). The racers have to pass to the left of A, the right of B and the left of C, before heading into the Russian base, turning round and taking the reverse route back (i.e. left then right then left but from the opposite direction). First one back to the American base wins for their team. Other team members can try and use the rifle grenades (smoke or 40mm grenades – no perks) to prevent enemy team members from winning.
Repeat with different racers until everyone who wants to race has done so.

    Restricted Weapons Duelling
This will start off as pistols only. After 5 minutes a server message will flash up saying what the next weapon type to be used is and all players will be killed to allow them to change their loadout accordingly. No other method of killing other players will be allowed and anyone who does not observe this rule will be killed without warning. After 5 minutes another message will be sent saying what the next weapon will be and so on.
    – No enhancements are allowed (magnum ammo, 12-gauge rounds, explosive bonuses etc.)
    – Anyone who hasn’t unlocked the restricted weapon can use the default engineer SMG as a substitute.

    Cheers.
the server will be passworded, with the password being so super secret that I can only give you a clue as to what it might be; a word that starts with “scr” and ends in “um”.
(If you guessed “screw you dum dum”), then I’m afraid you aren’t quite right – in more ways than one.)

    Anyone else?

We aren’t going to try and have fixed teams, we just want to have a closed session for our own community.

It was only going to be the evening anyway – I was looking at a 20:00 UK start time.

Glad you sorted out your problem Magicker.
I have no idea about the amount of crap inside my fans but I suspect it could do with a good cleaning out as well.

They didn’t have our TS server password Murphy.

Thanks to everyone who took part – it was good fun and hopefully we’ll be able to repeat it again.

Apologies, looks like all the required info wasn’t passed on.
The TS3 password server is hssr.ath.cx:9987, password is yuri.
If you come in I can set up your access and move you to the channel based upon the team you join in the BC2 server.

The BC2 server is Hussars Big Friendly Scrum (you will need to deselect “no password” in the server browser filter options to see it). Password for that is slug.

I’m really sorry to hear that. Those of you who visit the Hussars forums know we have been trying to find out about his sudden disappearance and this confirms our worst fears.
Our deepest sympathies go out to all who knew him.

    Are you still here?

Eight years, eh? I suppose you must be doing something right then – and when I find out what it is I’ll inform the authorities.
    Well done you lot. 😛

p.s. – you need more smilies guys!

I have obviously died and been resurrected in some alternate reality.
Everyone saying how fantastic RtR was and how rubbish Secret Weapons was?

RtR was okay, but nothing special and far too small to hold people’s interest for more than a few weeks. Months after it had been released and people had played it to death everyone turned against it. Of the six maps, a couple were pretty poorly designed and the new toys included planes that were far too powerful and fast for the small maps.

SWWW2 was on the other hand a much better expansion – more maps (8 instead of 6), which were more varied and larger (not so much “out of bounds” areas), including night maps. It had the new “objective” game mode, some neat additions (such as throwing knives) and the infamous “secret weapons” themselves that were in general implemented well and didn’t unbalance the game. Not to mention the cool motorbike and side car. They even added another free SWWW2 map later (Raid on Agheila) which was one of the best additional maps they came up with.
I much preferred SWWW2 and thought it far superior to RtR – I still do.

Unfortunately, because many people had been soured by the RtR experience, they never bothered with the second expansion, which was a great shame, especially as not long afterwards DICE implemented the ability to run mixed game types (and mods) on a single BF1942 map cycle – something badly missing when RtR was released.
As I said though, even with this cool feature most servers didn’t run SWWW2 maps because there were always a few people in every clan who never bought it.

We’re sorry he seems to have escaped from his pen again.
Um … look, we’ll pay for any damages and the cost of the disinfectant.

Edit – Hang on, on second thoughts sod that – that disinfectant is good shit so it seems a waste to just pour it all over the floor.
