Nice price, but the other is AGP. Me too, not planning on upgrading for at least 10 months – so a quick fix for £100 might help mine – I am crawling along!!

I was thinking of upgrading too, but decided against it as I figured I would need the whole system doing and as I only have an AGP slot there would be nothing on the gc front worth bothering with, but looking at this maybe its worth it, I currently have an AMD XP3200, ATI XT850 2 Gig DDR 400.

Would I see a noticable difference in anything with that card instead of my current one? I was thinking probably not, but from what you have posted………………………??

Well silver gave that server a try, a bit lame – runway straffing and when I finally got airborne, was killed (ie server killed) for trying to kill one of the server guys – not for me. 🙁

The FH has some custom maps (the normal FH Mappack) but I think the vanilla is just that, although I have had some lag issues with it of late. Played a little DC last night too (on the Rats server!)

If you dig out your FH stuff, FH is up and running most nights on the Rats server, or vanilla is played on the Hussars server (Coop) both are well admined, although the hussars is normally empty of hussars, but I am on most evenings (either Rats or Hssrs) and I can admin hussars if anyone is being a poof.

Well your SNR (Noise Margin) is ok at 11, the higher this figure the better, although 16+ would be more stable as for your Attenuation 16 is quite low – mine is normally around 40, so not sure what is occurring there.

You should of course test your upload/download speeds at peak times, as this is when your SNR will be its lowest, when more users are online.

How far are you away from the exchange?

During the evenings I have my download speed capped (upon my request) as my SNR would constantly drop to zero and I would loose sync with the exchange. So mine is currently around 2 – 3 MB and I am around 3 – 4km from the exchange.

The way it works is during the initial phase when you get your RADSL it carries out a test to see what the optimum speed should be, now this takes a few days I think, but if more users join your exchange after the tests have been completed and the demand ups (esp in the evening) then your optimum speed will mean nothing and you will constantly loose connection.

Have you had BT carry out a line test etc?

To be honest your speeds dont look that bad, if you are actually getting 1.5 MB download then thats fine – dont forget you might be on 8 MB broadband, but thats not your download speed, you should expect to get around 700 kbps max?

Oh and I have one more………….

    Thats no moon…………………

    😉

As for exposure etc, it varied depending upon light, so whilst it was mainly white, around about 1/100 at F8 (ISO 80), although later when it was purely orange I had to up the ISO to 400 and although still F8 it was around 2 secs exposure. Oh and yes a tripod and remote shutter were used. Shame the camera hates low light so much, even running through Neat Image didnt help much at ISO 400.

Yeah lets face it, I prefer FH to BF1942 anyhow, so why bother with BF1943 when FH2 (release date – Summer 07?) will be enough!!!??

16 Db is fine, when it drops below about 8 it tends to drop, its worth checking it at peak times tho, around 2200 hours! If it does drop to around 4 or less you may have to get them to lower your speed.
