    Right you feckers get your techie heads on… looking to get a new machine at the end of this month

    Budget £650 -£700

    Ideally I want ;

    i5 3570K
    8Gb 1800 Mhz DDR 3 Ram
    decent mid range GPU
    Z77 Mobo
    1TB HDD
    120GB SSD
    PSU (preferably modular)
    Blu- Ray Drive
    Case nothing to pricey (Upto £80) but must have good cable management options.

    I have keyboard, mouse, monitor and Win7 64 that will suffice for now.

    My current PC is almost 9 years old and is desperate need of replacement. Other than the odd upgrade of a GPU it’s still stock from when I built it originally so I’ve had my monies worth out of it.

    So I’m currently trying to spec out a new one albeit with a restricted budget which make this a little more challenge to ensure compatibilty across the system whilst still being able to play new releases and ensuring I don’t limit upgragablity in the future.

    Looking for a quad core that overclocks well if needed without spending over the odd’s. Would love a new i5 3570K but at around £170 and then around £100 for a solid Motherboard it takes a big chunk out of my budget. This is without a decent mid range GPU.

    You live!

    Do you a spec later, should be doable.

    That said, Bumsticker knows his stuff too and will likely come up with a better spec. We will make it a competition 🙂

    Yes been know to venture round these parts from time to time. Competition you say? Ok let’s make it interesting and a bit more challenging…..

    Let’s see who can set a similar spec below £500 – Game On!! 😈

    ok, let’s work on a £600 budget. If the Olympics works out well and i get some decent work from it i may be able to get myself in a position to pay a bit more.

    Right in the market for a new PC too Budget upto £600. (I’ve not Lord Von Phartsburys access to limitless cash that these city banker types have)

    So I will lay down the gauntlet 😉

    System specs should be based on;

    Intel i5 Ivybridge 3570K which if i remember correctly is the equivalent to Sandybridge i5 2500K?
    Z77 Mobo (preferably ASUS)
    8Gb Memory
    Ghaphics Card : Nvidia
    2TB HDD
    64/120GB SSD
    Case
    PSU 650W modular if possible
    DVD or Blu Ray

    Ill be sure to do that 🙂

    I just figured out the final cost… its somewhere between 794 and 795.. 😳
    Should i be embarrassed that i spend that much on this?
    if it plays bf3 on high with no issue (i mean none at all) ill be happy..
    if it plays on anything above high (without the aforementioned meltdown) ill be ecstatic.

    Looks great mate, and the price aint to shabby either. Out of interest, where did you source your parts? I’m in the process of speccin a new PC with a similar budget.
