Participantalso can’t seem to turn crosshair on on the procon console, don’t remember tiurning iot off. I can’t test because you need two players min before starting a round!
XDC_Wolf
ParticipantWith the settings as you suggest Matt it isn’t listed as HC but as “custom”, so if you filter for “normal” it won’t come up! Not been able to turn HC on at the moment, not sure if it’s procon or BF3, although I suspect procon
XDC_Wolf
Participantturns out that procon might not be working! Certainly can’t set HC mode to see if the server settings work and apparently it only loads one map, I will look into it this afternoon though.

ParticipantSorry Matt, just read your settings, do we really want FF off? I’m not that fussed about HC whilst we learn the maps. Also the thing with BFBC2 was that if yiu changed something like having 3d spotting off but left HC mode disabled it would show up in the filters as HC, take it that’s what you want to test?
I have th e new version of procon for BF3 available at

Participantthere is a way to play single player, not tried multiplayer yet, but definitely will be able to play on 28th. It is an 11gb d/l so probably tomorrow
XDC_Wolf
Participantdon’t think so, but when they’re ordered by ping it would look that way naturally I suppose

top right of uk site says 28.10.11.
Fuckers, that means everyone in America gets a few days headstart on us, wonder if they’ll filter servers for regionality as well. 🙁

Participantwhat doc says, but whereas he has PHotoshop on his SSD, with caching you can change what is on your SSD on the fly so you could have Photoshop on and then unload PS and run BF3 from the SSD, it will always be installed on your SATA but will cache itself to the SSD (you can specify it to cache) the problem is that as it is cached it goes off after you turn the computer off/use something else, so the every time you load up a map it will take a SATA amount of time, but after that, other maps will load at SSD speeds if you follow.
XDC_Wolf
Participantif you go for a z68 chipset on your MB it can do SSD caching of your most used applications so you can get away with a small 20gb SSD and have the advantages for games like BF£, the first time it loads up from your HD it will be cached (first load up will be as normal time wise, subsequent load ups will be quicker), of course you could just install BF3 on a 20 gb SSD and have the advantage all the time, but SSD cachigng will cache whatever application your using (and shuffle off the ones your not using). Just a thought if you want to save a bit of cash.

Participantawesome, somehow manages to be the most entertaining and terrible film of all time!

Participant“I could tell it was Matt, he was the only single person in the audience”.

ParticipantI did change my opinion slightly after playing Caspian and nailing a few flash light weilding snipers (?!) and I believe they are looking at it for release.
