OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!!!!!!!
Just fired up Bf3 for the first time and boy have things changed since 2142!
The graphics alone are outstanding, alzir you’re right when you say suggest I need to take time to learn how to play – it seems totally new to me and have no idea what to do, where to go etc. I’m still setting up my key binds as I prefer them and haven’t even ventured into working out the battlelog system of getting into games………..wtf is that about?
Glad I’ve downloaded it but boy have I got some catching up to do – everything looks Purdy in ultra settings but some of the options I have NO idea about lol
one other thing, do we still have our own server where I can go and practice lol?
ok, you’ve convinced me alzir 😉 downloading it now.
Need some help with gfx settings. I can’t remember if I use the NVidia settings on the pc to up AA/AF and any other new-fangled settings now in existence or do I just set everything in game to max/ultra?
got GeForce 770GTX so should be quite capable of running everything pretty maxed out – oh and i’m using a 19″ 1280×1024 monitor 😉
haha, I did order it but then kept reading how similar it appears to BF4 so figured i’d just wait for that instead. I’ll stick with BF42 and the odd game of rising storm until BF4 is released 😉
Come and have a game or 3 of BF42, it’s still the best one for me – granted the graphics are dated but the gameplay is still the bollocks and none of this dogtags; medals bollocks other than gold,silver and bronze 🙂
Yup, got my pc and been playing a fair bit of BF42 🙂
I did ,y rising storm but am really enjoying playing bf, amazing how many people are still playing it.

Looks exactly the same as BF3, might give this a miss actually, played BF3 to death and don’t fancy paying £50 for a new map pack and patch for BF3, along with the rest of the money they will ask for you to play the full game. Anyone noticed games cost about £120 to get the full caboodle these days? Minecraft cost me £4.99 back in the day IIRC and I have played that for more hours than BF3 now, and I still enjoy it. Similarly with WoT for those into it.
Oh well, it’s probably about time I hung up my gaming boots and moved on, new term, new start me thinks.
just watched the vid, like the gameplay but really dislike the deathcam and the fact the guy who’s just killed you is bright orange! Hopefully a server side setting that can be disabled.

Don’t worry mate, I cancelled the order and bought rising storm instead. I’ll have a play of that for a while until BF4 is out.
I’ve just got a refund from origin for BF3 that I purchased earlier. If it’s quite similar which is something I’ve read elsewhere then I may as well just wait it out for BF4. Think I’ll buy rising storm for later when the other half is watching big bro.
so just install origin on the SSD within program files or create any folder I choose? (see question above 😉 )
now i’m more confused. Just looked on the ‘C’ drive and there is two program files folders; a normal one and a x86 one……………..HELP!!!!

cheers doc, so from origin even though I install the “base” prog on the HDD I still get the option of installing any games where I want?
Sorry doc, one other thing. You say you create a list of folders to install progs,docs etc. Is that all within the program files folder on the HDD or is that not needed.
As an example: i’m about to install origin so I create a folder called gaming hubs in which I want to install origin,steam etc. will that “gaming hubs” folder go in program files or direct on the HDD? Also when I install a game on my SSd do I then create a games folder on the SSD directly or within program files?

lmao doc, just clicked buy then saw this………..ah well, i’ll have a blast working through the maps etc. Now the next question. I’ve got a 256gb SSD and a 1Tb HDD, i’m about to install the origin software on the pc so should I put it on the HDD or SDD?
got a few months yet then. PC arrived this morning!!!!! looks the dogs bollocks, can’t wait to fire it up and see how it performs.
