ParticipantNot the prettiest model he could have chosen – really looks like a bloke in drag.
Very Max-Headroom….

ParticipantStart looking. Even though I have not played for weeks, I hope to restart again in a couple of weeks time.

ParticipantDidn’t we have a thread a while back where a bunch of us smartarses were saying don’t jump straight to Vista?
Oh, kids, you should listen sometimes 😛

ParticipantHippy – if you have been informed in writing that your position is definetely being made redundant, but they are keeping you on until the final day of employment (the alternative being called “gardening leave”), I’m sure that you cannot be prevented from taking time off to seek alternative employment.
I.e. it’s not like going for a job interview when in normal employment where you have to take holiday. Because your position is being terminated the rules change. More info on the DTI website here:
If one of your managers won’t talk to you, then that’s his personality issue, not yours. Fuck him. (Erm, figuratively, not literally!).
What I’m trying to say is that if your life being made hell at the office is preventing you in any way from seeking a new job, then you have your employers over a barrel and can legitimately complain. You may be able to get better terms, or perhaps immediate gardening leave. Or maybe even treated like a human again.

ParticipantOh you know I’m only kidding! 🙂
BTW, I should just just clarify that it is not me in that picture. I don’t iron…… 😛

ParticipantNo, April 1st was really my birthday.
I share it with the RAF and Adolf Hitler.

ParticipantI’ve got similar issues to Neon – real big slowdowns since the patch. I played briefly over the weekend for the first time in ages, and it’s like running through treacle.
I’m going to wind back my graphics settings to the minimum and try that. But it doesn’t feel like a graphics issue – it’s more like networking I think.
I also could not get on the XDC server – appeared red in the browser and would not let me connect. But I could see people on it via RCON. And yes, I do have Northern Strike installed.
Unfortunately these days I’ve got so little time to play that if it is any hassle at all to do so, then I just give up & get on with something else. May even have to get Arma or RO as a quick-fix replacement….

ParticipantThe BBC website was running a trial of smells over the internet. It’s front page has a tester for cheese and various other things. Was quite subtle but rather good.

ParticipantThank you all very much.
I had a great day, but am now slightly pissed and really need to hit the sack.
G’night all.

ParticipantWatt are you all talking about?

ParticipantIt’s certainly possible, but probably tricky, and could depend on what you mean by “network”.
For example, do you want a central user database where anyone can logon from any computer? Or do you simply need a central file store? Or do you just need a way for all computers to see the internet?
For Windows 3.x you’ll need the “Windows for Workgroups” version I think. You may need a Win2k/ or WinXP Server sitting somewhere too, which could help pull all the various network types together.
Also, for the Windows 3 PCS, getting a working network card could be a challenge.
