    Hmmm…

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that I’m pretty sure (if I wasn’t married) that I’d happily have sex with any of those women, possibly 3 or even 4 times.

Sure I don’t know what their personalities are like, their hobbies or even their names, but that wouldn’t be a problem for me. I guess I must be a pretty understanding and empathic guy to simply find women attractive having only seen pictures of them on the net and never actually having met them.

Maybe some of you could try being less judgemental towards women and more accepting of their physical nature like I do?

Arnie does give out some good advice. Here he is again making suggestions to a young lad who thinks the world is just pain and suffering and how no-one ever listens to him and why he wishes he’d never been born:

    LOL

Get to jail you deluded little strumpet! I like the fact that Ms Hilton campaigned to be spared jail time as she “is a role model to young girls, and give them something to aspire to”.

To which Govenor Schwarzenegger responded “all the more reason to send her to prison so young girls can see how crime an punnishment works”.

    Arnie FTW!

“Uplink underground, uplink underground. If you say that one more time, I’ll uplink your ass, and you’ll be underground!”

Pah! The South’s dead hard Insane. We’re the ones who won all the wars and gave the world tough guys like John Inman, Larry Grayson, Danny Le Rue and that nerdy bloke from the Yakult adverts who talks about bacteria at a dinner party, although I actually met him at a party in RL and he was off his face on coke and a total wanker.

And what’s the North’s contribution to Britian?

    The Chuckle Brothers

That’s all. So don’t go mocking our olympic slogan that cost more than a hospital wing, is in the gheyest colours imaginable and looks like it was clipped from a page of Smash Hits circa 1987. It’s perfectly capable of mocking itself simply by its very existence, thank you very much.

Well I hope they come up with something soon as I’m going cold turkey right now through lack of BF2142, although I’m sure the wife doesn’t miss me getting angry. I’m also pining for banter over TS so much that I’m tempted to ring Pharty’s 0898 number called “What do you want you stupid blaady walaby shagging arse bandit?” for some abuse. I’m also missing out on Wipers lovely, lilting Scottish accent.

I’ll probably go to the dark side for a bit and join Darth nOm and his Imperial cohorts having a go at RO, although I’ll need to find the time to play and get into it when I’ve got a free weekend. I get the impression that’s a game that’s not ‘pick up and play’ like the BF series.

Although I must admit that Quake Wars: Enemy Territory is starting to look a bit good to me, and that’s got monsters and lasers in it!?!?!?! Regardless what happens though I’ll just play what XDC hosts, because you guys are the best.

The whole Cholmondley-Warner series of sketches where excellent, especially madness of the mind:

    “HULLABALOO! HULLABALOO! HULLABALOO!”

But “Women: Know Your Limits” is my personal fave, and is still valuable information in today’s world of grrrl power and ‘equality’.

Sheesh! 35? That’s really old. Forget the leather trousers and a girlfriend, how about a pipe and some slippers?

    Have a good birthday.

    LOL! Brilliant!

Back in 1999 I used to work with a team of telesales people (I’m not proud of it) and two of the girls there didn’t know who Neil Armstrong was. One of the girls said “Do you mean Mr Universe?” Which I assumed meant she knew he flew around the galaxy, but she actually thought he was a male body builder.

She probably thinks LOTR was real and that the trees come alive

What are you saying? I thought it was a historical film.

What do you mean by ‘guest pass’ Hamster? Is that like a limited free time thing? Do you DL RO for free and then pay for the license, except in this instance?

You should all be thankful for Big Brother.

Big Brother is put on for blokes: For women to watch, simple as that. Just like soaps and those celebrity shows where they have competitions about crap stuff like dancing and ice skating. The clever big wigs at these tv stations know full well that a few hours peace from ‘er indoors is well worth the license fee so they stick these things on so you can all play Battlefield in peace for a few hours whilst your missus has kittens about some bird calling some Indian a bad name and being entertained by it.

They put these shows on so women can go out with their mates and have something to talk about, giving you even more time to play your Battlefield games.

If it wasn’t for tv programmes like this we’d all be getting it in the neck 24 hours a day.

They’re cheap as chips, completely crap and they serve their purpose. If us men have any sense we’ll keep quiet and let this show run and run.

    Now you know.

    Correct. 😀

    Agreed.

Personally I’d hold fire for the moment WET. Going from a 6800 to a 1950pro isn’t a massive jump and the ATI card will soon be very out of date. If I were you I’d only be looking to buy components that I could migrate across to my next PC, which in your case should be a dual core system with PCI-E.

Unfortunately AGP is a bit of a dead-end, so I’d personally invest the money elsewhere.

Well, I’ve done some investimigation and have come to the conclussion that EA are at fault (or at least are the main culprits). Basically my board was a stop-gap so I could do a slow transition from AGP + DDR, to PCI-E and DDR2, which it seems to be doing admirably, with the exception of the latest BF series. I will be getting 2GB of DDR2 sometime in the future though, but I don’t think that’d solve this particular problem.

Even without patches installed 2142 clunks along on low settings, and even when it’s ramped up to 1280×1024 with everything on ‘high’ I get virtually the same jerky framerate (but a much prettier picture). Conversely Far Cry runs smoothly and beautifully at the same res and equally high setting (which it couldn’t handle before).

Having a VIA chipset on the mobo certainly doesn’t help but my beast can handle everything else at high res no problem.

Although I’ve not updated my BIOS, it is an option. I have however set it to default and tried it like that, although I’ve since reconfigured it the way I likes it, but no joy on the BF front. I’m sure that there’s more tweaking I can do with the OS that may effect it, but that’s for another time.

So I guess I’ll just have to wait until the next big team game hits XDC and go with that. Quake Wars: Enemy Territory anyone?

Muchos thanks for the help and advice though fellows, I owe you all a pint.*
