the dates were most likely genuine dates that they were aiming for.
some exec probably looked at the game and laughed and said there is no way its getting released in 6 weeks time.
also bear in mind that if they set a release date the game has to be completed 1 month before that date so that the game can be certified, mastered, and shipped out to shops in time for a release date. so as a result they would have to have spore finished in 2 weeks time.
the balance between costs of missing a release date and game quality are a never ending compromise. the cost of launching a game like spore is in the tens of millions of dollars in marketting, ad space, product placement etc alone, and cancelling a game launch much closer than 6 weeks results in all that money being lost.
that probably wont asuage anyones anguish over this but hey, thought you should all know 🙂

as Lammie said, we have been to a few over the years. i have been going to them for about 6 years and they are pretty damn safe. theres the occasional issue that occurs but then again there isnt anything surprising about that when there are 1500 people there.
i am thinking of going to I33 but cant decide. but if i do then i wil let you all know.
oh, and it gets pretty damn chilly at night so make sure he has lots of blankets or he wont get any sleep due to being soo damn cold 🙂
its basicly saying that pc titles didnt sell very much last year compared to console games, and the two guys who btw are not exactly what i would terribly enigmatic reviewer are speculating that pc gaming is dying and more pc games will be ports of console games etc.
its nothing new and i dont think its anything to worry about. it just that more idiots own console games and buy into the hype so buy crap games like kane and lynch and assasins creed. and im happy with that 🙂
someone started another vote kick against me last night while on the RIP server 🙂 but enough kindly people kept me there.
i was accused of camping……….pfft it was a temporary tactical position to cover my team mates!
i have only just started having problems with PB in the last few days so there may have been an update that my pc didnt auto update.
i will check it out tonight.
