Oi oi lads 😀 Rejoice for i walk amongst you again.. 8) Sorry for the lack of communication – real life intruded into my XDC world. The kitchen / bathroom renovation turned from 2 weeks into two months 🙄 (long story) and I’m only now moving back in. I’ve also got a new job lined up working for a maritime safety/legal compliance company which starts in July so its been a bit frantic. Hope to be back in gaming mode in the next fortnight or so (after a bit of remedial DIY 👿 and i find the PC under the ten tons of shit in the spare room..). What we all playing at the mo? Cod4?

Oh yes, this should be good. If they ever release it… 🙄 The main complaint of the previous 2 games was the quality of the graphics but they seemed to have sorted that with the UT3 engine. If you like squad work with a bit of COH strategy in a FPS format then this is the nads.
Hippo – you can always turn off the suppression indicators and other ‘aids’ in the options – makes for a much better game – and I think the weapon inaccuracy is fairly… well accurate 😉
Not tried the MP though.
Sorry lads – should have said – I’m having a new kitchen & bathroom put in at the mo which means I’ve moved out of my gaff while the work is going on. Staying with a mates which means no PC 🙁 Could be another week as well before I’m back in gaming mode..

I’m still waiting for the killer reason to switch to Vista – ie ‘this game will only run on vista’ or something like that. Why not do a dual boot machine?
Have you checked the memory on your laptop, using memtest86? You can download for free from http://www.memtest86.com/
A lot of people ran into problems with 2142 because it used uber amounts of memory – more than any previous games – and so encountered RAM defects which had previously gone unnoticed as that area of the ram chip hadn’t been used much. I imagine alot of the newer games are using more physical memory too.
Its a long shot but worth ruling out.
