ParticipantSooo… I am “Elastic Banding” all over the place, and it is thoroughly annoying – any help would be appreciated.
I have checked my connection, and it looks pretty good:
Could it be something to do with Port Forwarding? I am trying to find out the router password from my landlord, so can anyone suggest anything I should try first?
Cheers

ParticipantSo whats this about ssd drives having only a certain amount of read cycles (or something) before they stop working… is that the case?!
TurksMeister
ParticipantIt just required a windows update of some sort… so frustrating but working now… and maps load in about 15 seconds!
TurksMeister
ParticipantDamn you – i think the first one will solve it!
I hadnt updated to SP2 (I thought it would do it automatically in Windows update)… and deleted the bloody game before I tried.
16GB is a loooong download!

ParticipantWhere would I install antivirus etc? Old HD or New SSD?

ParticipantCool – should have some time on tomorrow

ParticipantSo… it came, and is installed. Windows now takes about a minute to start up instead of the 6 minutes before, so an improvement, but slightly less than what I was expecting (but £40!!)
The in-laws (perhaps one day!) have been over for the past 3 weeks, so gaming time serverley limited, but will test it out fully on Sunday. Whup whup!

Asking a question could be considered research… yes?

ParticipantBaa humbug – the drive came with no cables…what are the chances of the cables coming with the original pc (ie power and connection), and being inside the case as per the old style HDd’s? if none, then I would prefer not to have the hassle of taking the thing apart.

ParticipantCheers mate – SSD is being delivered tomorrow so will start with that and see where that gets me.
