Happy new year all 🙂
I’m back btw, so if anyone happens to be kicking about looking for a game the next few nights, I’ll be on TS, steam, IRC etc. There’s a chance I’ll head to a bar tonight, but I’ll be looking for a game for at least the next couple of hours 🙂
As much as I’d love to laugh at EA on this one, they aren’t really charging for the beta, it’s just thrown in as a bonus for pre ordering.

Anyone about tonight for a game give me a shout. Don’t be put off by which channel I’m in on ts, half the time I’m not even in a game.
I kinda thought this when I first saw it, but playing today it’s very clear that Chargin’ Targer is ridiculously overpowered. I hit a demo with a crit plus my 3 other rockets and he didn’t die! I suspect the nerfbat will be out soon enough.
This is my last day before going home for christmas (assuming that’s possible) but the snow’s stopped me getting into work today, so if anyone’s about for a game, jump on TS, IRC etc.
DLC includes community mods, dedicated server support, and £15 extra in my pocket? That’s it, I’m won over, and getting an Xbox 🙂
To be fair to your original point though, the sooner there’s a universal system out there which everyone wants to use for gaming, the better.

I thought you were going for that top of the range PC because you had money to burn 🙂 £500 should get you one that’ll run most things for the next 3 years, especially if you have a monitor and peripherals already. My current one will be 5 year old come March, I’ve spent much less than £500 on it (probably around £350), and I expect it will run BC2. Spending on top of the range stuff isn’t necessary.
You never seemed to get to grips with the weapons though Max, for example you always played soldier with the shotgun out, ignoring the rocket launcher which is the primary weapon. I don’t know what other game’s you were into prior to bf42 but it must be confusing for a battlefield player see the rocket launcher (and other weapons) for the first time, and that to me is the crux of the problem some XDC have with TF2, and this has nothing to do with cartoon graphics.
