KeymasterI’ve seen similar on other maps where it’s possible to get in the same position by jumping through particular windows, so yea keep an eye on it until DICE fix it.

KeymasterI’ve replaced all the “conquest assault” versions aka the 3 flag ones, with the Rush versions, and these follow the large maps.

KeymasterIt’s a list of all DICE employees who’re playing the game presumably, and the join button links to the server they’re currently playing on. Join, find them, stab them.

KeymasterR15 is due out as (you won’t believe me but) they managed to add in some bad code that causes more server crashing.
now they have asked we roll it out to some servers and report back so this will be optional tonight so you can test it, 64 player servers should really update ASAP as they are the most unstabe anyway.
also 64 slot server are advised not to run high ticket servers as the chance int he server crashing before the tickets run out are quite high.
I will send another mail when its ready to deploy.
It’s currently available to install manually, but as the server’s full we’ll not bother until later or unless EA make it mandatory and Rackage do it for us.

KeymasterNeither would I, but that’s mostly because I’ve already had a chance to play through the new maps a few times since I’ve been off work. Considering the origin problems last night, I suspect not many others have got that chance yet, and if people log in tonight while the normal rotation was on, they may have to stick around a few hours for the B2K maps to come round again.
How about we keep this rotation on for tonight, and adjust it as we feel fit going forward, based on whatever people say on TS later?

KeymasterMeh, that’s just a moan about RPG on infantry and Noob tubing, veiled behind above average use of English.
The recon section of his argument is also a poor attempt at stating they should be encouraged to get forward or do more for their team, rather than working on their K/D ratios by sitting miles away from any danger.
One thing is true though, they could do more with assignments.

KeymasterLets try this for a few days and then worry about that. We’ll certainly not want them all in there or set to 2 rounds, but need to playtest a bit first before we can decide which.
In the meantime though, does anyone want our normal rotation thrown in there as well?

KeymasterI’ve redone the map list since there’s been some feedback that small maps are actually quite liked, so the list is as follows.
Conquest Small Gulf of Oman
Conquest Small Wake
Conquest Small Sharqi
Conquest Small Karkand
Conquest Assault Gulf of Oman
Conquest Assault Sharqi
Conquest Assault Karkand
Conquest Large Gulf of Oman
Conquest Large Wake
Conquest Large Sharqi

Feel free to suggest alternatives, and I’ll readjust it, but I’ll explain briefly the thought process behind this. Gulf of Oman is probably the most balance starting position for small teams which is why I’ve set it as first map on the rotation. This type of map generally attracts flyboys who often empty the server if it then switches to more ground orientated map, where fights are more manly. For this reason I’ve set Wake island to follow it immediately, which should give the server enough time to recover from any lost players and by the time we progress to Sharqi any loss of fly boys should be something numbers can recover from.
What I’d like to know though is how people feel about the smaller map varients, as with the rotation set to the above, we have 2 thirds of the total server rotation set to them, and also if we start the server at the usual time of 6pm, it could be 9 or 10 before the large maps come on. I can adjust this depending on what we like?

KeymasterFor me, Sharqi, and Oman, are almost exactly as they were. The only disappointment in Karki is the loss of the warehouse and Factory across the river. It is however still crucial to the overall map strategy to get behind the defenders and cap the flags over there, and then defend the bridge and ford. As before, if you threaten the armour respawn, you normally end up with your own fight on your hands over there, which is normally against the more tactically astute players of the defending team. The fight is a little more concentrated though, and therefore likely to be shorter, which I don’t like, but the largest version of the map plays almost the same as it did before overall.
Oh and Wake is also more or less the same, although the airpower always annoys me on it.

I’m surprised by this, as I thought you’d like the return to an older conquest design. In particular Shaqi and Karki which have close to the old flag layouts, though the new Karki actually has less flags than in BF2. Since BC2 conquest has otherwise felt a little dumbed down and consoley.
