    Not sure of the general consensus but I’ve heard a few people mention, and feel myself, that we should perhaps change the map rotation a little. Remove this, add that etc. Was thinking of the best way to get the maps and I propose… shockingly… a vote.

    We could have a list of all maps, the 32, 64 and rush version of each. We all get say 10 votes and vote for the 10 we most want.

    The top 2 get 2 rounds each, then the next 6 or 8 or something also get included.

    What do others think?

    Is a change needed? Is that a fair system? Any better ideas?

    p.s. Is there a shuffle option for maps or you have to select em, If not that would be good.. if done right

    I like the canals ahnd I dont see Caspian Border that much, top map but seems to be at the arse end of the rotation

    I like everything bar the 64 player map everyone seems to whine about. I would rather 2x 32 player maps on that one.

    I’ve just removed that one from the server btw messy, and reorganised the rotation slightly so metro and damavand peak don’t follow each other…this seems to be where the server dies each night.

    The rotation is based on random discussions on TS but a vote should help mix it up a bit and keep things fresh. We’ll change it again once Karky’s out…..24/7 karky max?

    Ok so I’ve set Karki only maps on the server including all variations except for rush. There are two rounds set on the conquest large versions and the conquest assault versions. I’ve set 1 round on the small versions for now because I think they’re inferior to the larger versions, however I’ve left them in place so we all get a chance to form our own opinions.

    The server died a death early this evening after an issue with team balance again, so I’ve attempted to install the procon true balancer for bf3, though I’m not sure if it’s working right yet.

    I’ve redone the map list since there’s been some feedback that small maps are actually quite liked, so the list is as follows.

    Conquest Small Gulf of Oman
    Conquest Small Wake
    Conquest Small Sharqi
    Conquest Small Karkand
    Conquest Assault Gulf of Oman
    Conquest Assault Sharqi
    Conquest Assault Karkand
    Conquest Large Gulf of Oman
    Conquest Large Wake
    Conquest Large Sharqi
    Conquest Large Karkand

    2 rounds set on all.

    Feel free to suggest alternatives, and I’ll readjust it, but I’ll explain briefly the thought process behind this. Gulf of Oman is probably the most balance starting position for small teams which is why I’ve set it as first map on the rotation. This type of map generally attracts flyboys who often empty the server if it then switches to more ground orientated map, where fights are more manly. For this reason I’ve set Wake island to follow it immediately, which should give the server enough time to recover from any lost players and by the time we progress to Sharqi any loss of fly boys should be something numbers can recover from.

    What I’d like to know though is how people feel about the smaller map varients, as with the rotation set to the above, we have 2 thirds of the total server rotation set to them, and also if we start the server at the usual time of 6pm, it could be 9 or 10 before the large maps come on. I can adjust this depending on what we like?

    Looks good, to me.

    Ay ideas on how the map rotation will look once we winclude these in to the the BF3 vanilla maps

    Lets try this for a few days and then worry about that. We’ll certainly not want them all in there or set to 2 rounds, but need to playtest a bit first before we can decide which.

    In the meantime though, does anyone want our normal rotation thrown in there as well?
