All hail the mighty Dawkins! This is Richard at his most provocative best. A no nonsense, no holds bar attack on the superstitious nonsense and the silliest of human behaviours.
Starts out with a demolishing of the so called arguments for the existence of god and then goes onto examine why humans with our vast intellect
That’s how far I got till I burst out laughing. Have you met humans ? Vast intellect ? Why’s Pharty always on holiday when you need some proper comments ( aka insults ! )
Seriously though, not being much into reading(aka lazy) I thought I would read through the Wiki version of it HERE
Seems like an interesting read, but at the end of the day as Spunker said, he’s just pushing his beliefs in favour of another.
From wiki ->Dawkins further argues, following Bertrand Russell, that although “you cannot disprove the existence of God”[13] it is also impossible to disprove the existence of an orbiting teapot – and also cites unicorns, the Flying Spaghetti Monster and tooth fairies. Hence the inability to disprove the existence of God provides no positive reason to believe. Rather, Dawkins argues that the burden of proof is on the advocates of the existence of God.
So he can’t prove that God doesn’t exist, nor can it be proven that God does exist. Same can be said for the big bang, nobody can prove it happened or didn’t happen. At the end of the day we won’t know as undeniable physical proof for either will always be lacking
At the end of the day either I believe that I and everything around me was made by someone(God) by design and there’s the promise of a life beyond this, or I believe that I and everything that exists came into being through a big bang and then evolved and that when I die I return to the earth and rot away.
I’ll be honest, I believe in God for many reasons and only did so well after becoming an adult, but even if put with the simple fact above, I’d rather want that I was created and had a purpose in the life I live than feel like being the result of an accident and the only ever end result of my life being deathXDC Dutchman

ParticipantOoooooo, nice HD trailer, thanks Insane
Looks like it’s gonna be a good movie, then again doesn’t take much to be better than the first one, and who knows, perhaps it can follow in the almighty of all sequels Terminator 2 in shrugging off the curse that just the mere mention of “sequel” brings
Plus, if you like movies with people dying, I think the preview alone had about 57 deathsXDC Dutchman
ParticipantGo for the screen, a quality monitor will last you for years and years, a PC will require upgrading in 6 months time

ParticipantHmmm….I couldn’t help but hear a whisper of “urban legend” when reading this, and sure enough there it was a short google search later
BarnfindThe referenced pictures were indeed taken in a barn somewhere in Portugal, but the “lucky find” aspect of the story doesn’t quite ring true. As Tom Cotter of Sports Car Market
Huge collections of cars don’t just happen. Cars are accumulated; sometimes lovingly, sometimes not by someone with a purpose. I was sure this collection was not assembled by accident; nobody would simply sell an old farm and fail to mention to the new owners the stash of old cars in the barn.
What he found out by tracking down the photographer was that the owner of the barn (and the 180 or so vintage cars contained within) was not a lucky buyer who had just purchased the property and was astonished to find a treasure trove in one of the farm buildings. The owner was an automobile dealer in the 1970s and 1980s who had built up his assemblage of cars over the years and stashed it in the barn (locking the structure up when it was full) and who simply hired a photographer recently to document his collection.
Sorry to ruin it for everyone !

ParticipantOooh, nice Erin picks, was wathcing one of the Buck Rogers reruns the other day and she quickly reminded me of why I was so fond of the show.
As for Transformers, Honestly :
I do, I pity the fool who watched this on a dvd, even a honest geniune DVD quality one. Movies like these were not meant to be watched on the small screen with normal sound.
Saw this in the cinema today, and it rocked. The sound was absolutely thumping and made the action scenes truly inspiring.
Plot was good, action was quality and the movie was spiced with good humour. And 10/10 for the fox of an actress
Moive is a 9/10 for meXDC Dutchman
