Hippy is right, it’s CoD2 even down to the same old whiny noise when you die. Since CoD2 played well enough though I’m alright with this. Better than them changing it all and arsing it up.

My average PC ran it smooth on almost max settings as well, so just about everyone should be able to run it.

Yeah, NOLF was a great laugh. Really good game. I remembered it the other day when I was trying to think of something to break up the time I’ve spent on FIFA 08.

So I was thinking back to decent games before they made shooters for consoles and then stuck them on the PC where they just didn’t seem all that great (Bioshock and the Jericho demo spring to mind) and decided I’d have to get it for a play through.

So I take it that it Steam no longer:

Adds 25 minutes to you PC startup.
Takes 3 days to download anything off it.
Randomly jumps up from the start menu and minimises/crashes any game you are currently playing (unless it’s already on Steam, in which case this never happened – conveniently).
Gets up in the middle of the night, drinks all your milk and leaves your fridge door open.

If I am going to wank up my PC with it can someone tell me what else is available on it? Not including:

Orange box
RO
Completely toss Populace/RTS type bollocks called Virus or something

I just remembered yesterday that I completely missed NOLF2 and was gonna buy that today. Is that on it by any chance?

The previous CoD games all scaled to to lower specs pretty well so hopefully this one will look alright anyway.

Will it be as good as CoD2 though? Not likely – CoD2 had the desert rats shouting “Got the bloody wanker!” whenever they shot someone, which made it good regardless.

Nah, this can’t be right. As if Dice would rip off features off the 5 year old Planetside and bolt them onto their game and basically re-release as being a new one in the Battlefield series.

I’m not an ignoramous, I’ve tried a few of these games. They all have one thing in common. You’ll never find anyone on any of them that actually enjoys playing them.

I don’t know whats sadder, making a macro so that the game plays itself, selling your character on eBay or the just the fact that there is even a market for people that want to buy a character for a game so that they don’t have to actually play it…..beyond gay.

Hey Judge, you couldn’t be more wrong. The people who do this are the sensible ones.

As a player of one of these games you have 2 options.

1) Buy your gold, character or get a macro to play the game for you. This saves you having to spend HUGE chunks of you spare time killing thousands and thousands of identical pointless “monsters” so that you can go straight to the (relatively) interesting bit of killing big monsters like dragons n shit, and all the other exciting stuff they stick on the back of the game boxes to get people to buy ’em but which 95% of the people will never see.

2) Actually spend HUGE chunks of your time killing thousands and thousands of identical pointless “monsters” to get enough gold, pretend magic swords and crap to do the exciting stuff on the back of the box – only to then realise that everyone around you bought their character last week on ebay and spent the last six months actually doing something they enjoyed rather than doing something which is in real terms, more tedious and less rewarding than most jobs you can get.

The best thing to come out of WoW is the fact that there’s a picture of a bird who has pissed herself on a forum somewhere which started off about the game. It’s that desperate.
