Yeah, I think I’m going for FIFA this year. I’ve seen some in game footage of PES8 and it’s the PS2 version of PES6 with flasher graphics.
Saying that I know I’ll end up going back to PES6 about a week later since every FIFA game is the same – you spend 10 minutes getting used to it, 10 minutes playing it and then 10 minutes beating the CPU 16-0 on the highest settings and realising playing it anymore is pointless.
They really f***ed up PES with the match scripting, which was annoying and utterly pointless. If they get rid of that it would be an improvement.
Anyway, I wouldn’t worry about Terry Henry anymore (or Sprogs failure to cotton onto the fact that you have to use long sprint to outpace defenders!), he’ll be absolutely shite on the new PES. The bias towards premiership teams on PES is legendary and he doesn’t play there anymore so he’ll be a carthorse.
There’s a FIFA 08 PC demo out by the way, it’s a bit shite to say the least. Looks like the PC version is the PS2 version ported across.

If you’ve not played it on the hardest difficulty give it a go. It actually improves the enemy AI and it’ll try to flank you. Pretty decent.
Gotta say though that after playing this I installed CoD2 again over the weekend and that’s still probably a better game (or better than the one level demo anyway), though on the hardest difficulty it’s a right bastard to get through at times.
Before you clear up your room I think the first thing you should do is wipe up those 2 big globs of milky liquid off the floor between your chair and your PC.
If a bird comes into your room and trips over all that tat you could be paying maintenance for a good few years.
The multiplayer will be just like the mp on the previous Medal Of Honour and Call of Duty games. It’ll be decent for 2 weeks then the hacks will come out and it’ll be a complete waste of time.
Never buy CoD/MoH for the mp.
Turks, if you’re with Virgin Media I wouldn’t worry about how big your line is. I’d be surprised if Virgin could tell you, useless gets. Just be thankful it’s working!
Might be worth a look. Read a piece on this and apparently they’ve totally overhauled it. Seen a few vids and it looks a totally different game to that complete bag o shite that they released as a demo last year.
I’ll wait for the PC demo though, too lazy to take my 360 out of its box until FIFA 08 appears.

But there are downsides to your argument as well.
I mean, yeah his wife is a looker but no matter how little she wears there’s far too much horror and not enough arse wiggling going on in his films.
What’s more, having straggly hair and wearing leather jackets and all that shite might have been a good way for a teen/twenty something year old bloke to get laid in 1992 but it’s now 2007 and the bloke is well over 40. If any of your mates got to that age and were still turning out like that you’d tell ‘em to grow up and you’d also reject any advances from his missus on the basis that 1) She’s clearly a mental (even by bird standards) if she’s shagging a bloke who is trapped in the early 90’s and she really needs to sort that shit out and 2) She’s shagging a bloke who basically looks like a tramp and quite frankly, you’d rather not swim in his bits.
So on balance, I reckon the limited arse wiggling from the brunette (and I prefer ‘em to blondes anyday) still wins out for me.

Yeah, I always quite liked White Zombie. Particularly the first album, decent band.
The problem with anything Rob Zombie puts on film is that it’s never gonna be as good as the video to Thunder Kiss 65, which had birds in cowboy hats and hot pants wiggling their arses.
Look for it on Youtube and tell me any of his films have been half as good as that! You can’t.
Gears of War is the only game I’ve come across so far. So my 360 is gathering dust.
Of the ones Insane mentioned I wasn’t stuck with any of em to be honest but I havent played Rainbow 6 so that might be worth a go – it good good write ups everywhere.
Have to agree with Insane on the 360 footie games. FIFA07 is better than PES (though ridiculous as it sounds the PS2 version of PES6 better than them both.)
My advice would be to save your money for now and buy PC games, MOH Airborne is out a week on Friday and seems pretty good and then you’ve got UT3 coming out as well. Even that Timeshift is due out soon and might be worth a look since they overhauled it.
Plenty of games coming out on the 360 (eventually) PES or FIFA, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Assassins Creed, Alan Wake (think that’s what it’s called anyway), Army of Two, Stranglehold and GTA IV of course. Surely one or 2 of those will be passable?!? So you might not have wasted your money just yet.
This game is basically the reason I got a 360. It had better be good or the thought of spending nearly 300 squid on a lump of plastic without anything to play on it may end up with my missus having a big Xbox sized dint in her noggin.

It’s space to Flare your chute on PC – or jump button, whatever you’ve mapped it to.
Doesn’t really make much difference, you just recover a bit faster from your landing. Probably important if you decide not to land in a safe area and land on an oily.
Couldn’t see it in the instructions but if you flare the chute as you land you get a perfect everytime.
I’ll be getting this on the PC, never thought much of using console controllers for these FPS games.
Give Vampire the Masquerade a try. You’ll probably be able to get it for less than a fiver these days. It’s a decent game and it’s not orcs n dorks for a change. Has a “Blade” type setting but without that annoying pillock Wesley Snipes swanning around like a gaylord.
Bit rushed at the end but a really good game overall.
