Steve, spec me a machine along the following lines, but with watercooling for the VGA and let me know what you would rush me for it. Would want XP 64 on it
MBoard = Asus P5N32 – E SLi
RAM = Corsair XMS 2 Dominator PC2-64400 (4gb)
CPU = Intel E6600 (or a Quad core if they are really worth it?)
Video = BFG 8800 GTX
PSU = Enermax 1000w Galaxy Modular
Sound = XFI Gamer or wotiver
Case = Suggest one, have been a Lian Li fanboy for years, but coolermaster can be ok. Like a case with room to work in, preferable black, no naff lights and stuff
Drive = 150gb Raptor

does this not mean that to run games at its native resolution you would need to have insanly fast gfx cards for the life of the monitor – ie as new games are released you would have to upgrade your gfx to keep these games running at > 1600 / 1200..???
is this the case or am i just wrong???

Mine ran fine on 2 GeForce 7800 GTX cards and runs fine now with a single GeForce 8800GTX card, all settings on etc at 1600 / 1200
No games I know of go above this resolution

Bollox, and it was not just the accent, it was the choice of words and phrases. For example, only Rhodies use the word “munts” for blacks, South Africans do not. And I am not saying racism is right, I am saying they got some of the nuances of Rhodie speak right
