Bios changes:

enter bios
in Advanced Bios Features…DISABLE the following:

cpu Enhanced Halt (C1E)
cpu EIST Function
Virtualization Technology

press escape
go to PC Health Status

set Fan Speed Control to Legacy
set Fan Speed Control Mode to PMW ( these setting ensure that fans are at optimum)

press escape
go to Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker:

set cpu Host Clock Control to enabled
set the System Memory Multiplyer to 2.0
set system voltage to Manual
set MCH Voltage to +o.1v (just gives the memory a boost, you can try without this)

make sure your memory is set to auto for the time being

ok…now the good bit…the FSB (Front Side Bus)
you will have a multiplyer of 7 with a fsb of 266…7×266=1862 your cpu speed (1.8g)

increase the fsb…now you can do incremental ie 5-10mhz…or jump straight to 300 or 366.. 366×7=2.57g nice oc…..then try in stages to get to 400fsb= 2.8g..my lads is at 429= 3.0g and theres more to come

DONT FORGET TO SAVE YOR SETTINGS (F10)

NOTE:

1.all cpus and memory are different..an overclock is not definite, but i’ve yet to see a 6300 @ 1.8 not hit 2.6 and above.

2.use cpuz to know your cpu speed….at each stage please test with TAT for temps….super pi for quick stability test…up near 2.4ish use Orthos for 20mins or more. When you think youve oc enough test with Orthos for at least an hour.

3.If you push it too far just reset to manual settings in bios and start again.

4.if you fold or use pc for research purposes and need real accurate data the run Orthos for a min of 12hrs.

5.post here if you get stuck or want some help we can use ts etc.

6.you overclock at your own risk…i love you all but fuck if im replacing your pc parts..

some quality games last nite with dazz, gra, morg, beer, doc and kroy….dont worry about it neon, i reguarly abuse my teamates….try to get them to play as a team nicely..but after 30 times of ‘sapper blow the north railyard’ whichs locks down another cap point, its turne into ‘ffs you cock blow the fucking wall’… have been known to tk the sapper blow the wall and save the day.
the RO server is run pretty strictly, repeated tk=ban…being a cock=ban….we aint very liberal and we never will be.

we do take time to show new guys the ropes and on many occasions have some terrific teamwork.

when not playing but admining my message is always ‘F*ckwits and Fools will be banned’

we have a full server most nites with plenty of regs…our server, our rules 😆

the gains for gaming arent quite there yet…some games on the horizon will use duo core..but at the mo you arnt going to see a massive boost in framerates…..what games are you going to play? some games need cpu power others gfx, what rez do u play in? 1600×1200 get agfx with 512

if money is no object then fine, but if your expecting a massive increase in games, you may be slightly dissapointed 😕
