Mate just told me that when he logged into EA Link this morning it updated to a new version from last nights one. Not sure if this will fix anything, will have to wait until I get home tonight.
Does that also fix the ‘kicked by PB for duplicate CD key’ ?
Oh and I think it was due to the fact that I tried it Lammies way that this got messed up.
I have my account installed on another PC and that was left to just update to EA Link without touching anything and that works fine….
Yay invalid CD key, looks like I’ll have to download and install it again…..
Not going to mess about editing my registery.
Does editing the desktop shortcut to pace.exe (instead of launcher.exe) avoid launching the EAD? and therefor you wouldn’t need to update it at all?
Although I’ve read that simply launching the EAD (befor trying to run BF2142) and letting it do its ‘thing’ causes no problems.
The files are .bik files.
You need to look for a file like intro.bik, it will be in the same folder as all the other intro movies.
Rename them all by adding a _ to the file extension so you get intro._bik etc.
However, don’t rename the titan tutorial one.

The stats are still a bit buggy by the look of it.
In the BFHQ section there’s a button on the right marked ‘Dog Tags’ click it and it should show you a list of all the ones you’ve collected.
I’m really enjoying it at the moment, but there are a few annoying things like the titan lag and the randomness when shooting rockets at armour.
Being blown up by my own motion mines was fun too 😀
Spent 10 mins on a Titan spamming that last night – running up to people, blocking doors, typing IN BIG CAPS IN TEAM CHAT, calling their name over voice-coms asking for them to drop some ammo – AND NO NOTHING NADA JACK DIDDELY BUGGER ALL!!!!!!

I ended up switching to support myself…… Which kind of defeted the object 😥
Only problem I have is that this a war ravaged world in the future.
Isn’t most of the planet frozen and what’s left is being fought over, meanwhile…. the advertising gurus are still at it..
However, I understand that all advertising artwork has to be passed via Dice’s artwork team – in order to ensure that big adverts don’t look out of place in a war ravaged world.
