I just had to reply to your post.

Twas 12 years ago that I registered for this forum at the ripe old age of 36!

Can’t beat you on the junior stakes, although I must have also been 23 at some point in my life!

    So far so good.

Operations is top fun and domination is catering to my need for quick games. I need to spend some time with conquest just to get my head around the size of some of the maps. Bearing in mind that I’m still crap at crap at video games it can feel like a long walk followed by a quick death.

As far as ‘walking and dying’ simulators go, its one of my favorites at the moment!

    All good here.

Another week with the game and I have to say it is fairly good. Not up to all that if you want the military shinanegans that come with all the previous incarnations of BF.

There seem to be a fair few knob heads playing, present company excepted (bar Turks) and plenty of chat spamming / trolling (as I believe the kids call it these days!) but I guess that always happened.

The other thing that I think is poo is the servers set up as ‘NO KILL’ servers where you get banned if you kill someone. The whole point of these is to farm money by driving around and around in cars racking up the points……..errr but what is point? I hear this is frowned upon by EA, but hey no one ever criticised them for performing repeated actions to maximise cash………ahhhh, actually 🙄

Ignoring that, its fun enough to hold my attention for almost 7 whole days.

BTW Turks, the Knob head comment was in jest, good to hear from you.

Bought it from Argos, needed DVD as my broadband is dog plop and it would have taken a week to download 🙄

Yup, overpriced but is totally compatible with my huge lack of an attention span.

    Very much “Call of Battlefield”

Oh and hello again all after many years, hope all are well. 😀

Had this running all fine on Friday night, but since last night I cant even play a game. I join ok and then 20 seconds into the round I just get returned to the battlelog screen.

Reading the EA forums it seems that a few people are getting this.

Quite anoying really, I ended up playing STALKER instead 😕

    I’ve got TV inadequacy 😉

All the steam carry on is great, but its just a bit of a hassle.

In the days of 1942 it was all soooo easy as everyone generally played on the same server. You didn’t have to think about it. If anyone was on, then just drop on TS.

    /me runs off to reminisce

360 version is getting more of my attention. Am getting used to the controls and finding the transition between vehicles and foot a lot easier, none of that, wheres my joystick, aw crap i didnt plug it in or map some criptic key combination to the pov up button because the game doesnt recognise my hardware.

The aiming thing with a 360 pad is ok. When you zoom in the controls slow down, making the fine aiming alot easier. Only been doing it a few weeks but am getting the hang of it now.

Granted the PC version is far better graphically, but there is someting about a big telly and sofa combination that just makes it irellevant.

But the true winner is the, log on to live, xbox tells you who else is on line, what they are playing and if you fancy a game you just join them and turn on your headset. Job done.

Iv’e done it, gone and bought BFBC2 on the 360 and got hold of Vietnam for the same. I’ve only just bought them for the PC, but it was busting my chops as I could never get online. 360 + disk + controler = striaght online and running into cupboards. I feel liberated.

Turks, I’m afraid there’s no homegrown veg as we’ve just moved house, will be growing next year, I’ll send you a sprout next Christmas if you like. (can sprouts be sent via email?) Also, within a matter of weeks of moving, I managed to (very accidentaly) tread on another frog in the dark 😥 . I was, again, completely traumatised for days.

    How regularly?

Most evenings, later on, but tend to play in 15 minute stints

Which platform do you use (PC, Console, or Both)?

PC and XBOX360 although I’m having real issues deciding which I prefer.

What are the main games you stick to?

    At the moment:

    PC – BFBC2 & Vietnam
    Trials SE
    Stalker – Clear Sky

    XBOX360 – Trials HD
Fallout 3 – Completed main mission and am now just collecting crap and putting it in my Megaton House
Red Dead Redemption (but starting to think it’s a bit poo)

What’s the best way for me to get in touch with you while you’re online and looking for a game?

I quite literally have no idea on the PC. As the 360 is so simple to use I seem to have completely forgotten how to use a PC

I have Steam but always forget to put it on, IRC makes my brain hurt and team speak got all confusing with version 3 arriving

    Steam : Spugs
    360 : XDC Spugs

Who do you regularly play alongside from XDC?

I’d be pushing my luck to claim I was regular

    Hello m8, how’s it going?

Glad to say I’m still running into lockers and loving it. Old age has left me with a terrible attention span, so I’m generally playing a bit of everything and not a lot of something. Also moved out of town into a village with a really bad internet service. 😕

Games wot I am playing (a bit)

    BFBC2 Vietnam (PC)
    PES11 (360)
Trials (PC and 360) Although you’ve totally beaten all my times!

Kids & Job mean generally not on-line till after 10pm

Still on my quest to rid the world of beer!

Now XDCSpugs on XBOX (cant believe is cost 800 MS points to change name )
