4Gig of RAM? WTF? Please dont tell me that is necessary nowadays. Im gonna have to buy a desktop when I get back to blighty so I can kick all yer arses again (except max’s 😳 ) but I aint shelling out for a cray supercomputer ! Although…. would 4gig make my ogame screens load faster??? Then I might think about it 😉

I do feel that those who have been sentenced should serve the whole of their sentence and not get released early for good behaviour and the like.
However with regard to less serious crimes than murder I do feel that the lack of space in prisons is often the reasons shorter senteces are handed out and I would like to see more prisons built to hold criminals for the sentences they are handed .
Many criminals will offend again and while they are serving their prison term they are unable to comit these crimes against those on the outside.
Yeah – we are just chucking them out of prisone arent we? Oh… wait… we actually have more people in prison per capita than ANY other country in Europe.

What do you want us to do? Start locking them up in solitary confinement for 30 years like the states? 1 in 140 US ‘citizens’ is in jail…. I hear its pretty safe to walk the streets there though

DNA evidence has exonerated more than one person per year since 1992 [4] in the U.S., but such evidence is only available in a fraction of capital cases.
In the UK sentencing reviews have resulted in one pardon and three exonerations for people executed between 1950 and 1953 (when the execution rate in England and Wales averaged 17 per year), with compensation being paid.
I just lifted this from Wikipedia. As a previous Amnesty International member I have seen hundreds of individual cases flagged up regarding unsafe judgements and horrific abuses of the judicial system in the states and beyond.Lets not forget an increasing tide of evidence showing that a lot of the people on death row are mentally subnormal, many of them have IQ’s equivalent to small children, and a lot of the rest have certifiable mental illnesses.
Killing people is wrong…. the stuff written in this thread sounds more like tabloid hysteria than anything else!
The guys in this trial are scum – and may well need to be detained for the rest of their lives…. but killing them is NOT the answer!
