April 28, 2006 at 1:44 pm #21329XDCNeonSamuraiParticipantDuxford is a fab day out. To be honest, it’s more of a weekend thing as there’s so much to see, especially if they let you walk around the rebuild and storage hangars.
I’ve been to a few airshows there, and got a flight over London from there too. Duxford gets the official NeonSamurai ‘Fab Day Out’ stamp of approval.
In fact, I was going to give my GF a season ticket for her birthday so she could visit Duxford as many times a year as she wanted to, but she said she’d rather die. Apparently Karen Millen vouchers are a ‘much better present’.

Get it for her anyway..
That way you can use the ticket and she can stay at home.
Bargin.
April 28, 2006 at 4:26 pm #21331TurksMeisterParticipantMy flat mate used to work there, and my mates garden overlooks it… small world and all that.
April 28, 2006 at 5:05 pm #21332XDCMADMAXParticipantDuxford is a really nice place, must go again soon too. some good memories there.
April 28, 2006 at 5:21 pm #21333XDCNeonSamuraiParticipantMaybe we should arrange an ‘XDC day out’ and all descend on Duxford en masse. A bit like one of Leigh Mallory’s ‘big wings’ in fact. They got a tea room and some toilets there as well, so there are two less things to worry about, when planning it.
April 28, 2006 at 5:26 pm #21334XDCNeonSamuraiParticipantActually maybe it’s a bad idea. What if Max thinks he’s actually playing Battlefield 1942 and flips out? He might jump into one of the tanks and go on a killing spree shouting “‘Ave it!”
I’m not worried for my own safety you understand as I can lock myself in one of the toilets, but I’m worried about the ladies who run the tea room and what might happen to them.
Just as well I took the toilets and the tea room into account during the planning stages eh?

I have visions of max turning up with a defibrillator 😆

April 28, 2006 at 10:17 pm #21337XDC-snellParticipantNext year they open the new history of british aviation, they still building it at moment.
April 28, 2006 at 11:11 pm #21338XDC_WolfParticipantsounds like a decent place for a meet up, where exactly is it?
April 29, 2006 at 8:18 am #21339XDCMcQueenParticipantI still think we should have a meet up,And a WW2 museum would be the perfect location. 8)
