Yeh, Homegaurd LOL, that was it. Hehe, I have to say I was just one member of quite a large clan, so it wouldn’t surprise me if noone had heard of me 😀
Do any of you remember “Angel” I think he was french but a fantastic pilot, used to take out Tiger and Panzer IV’s first time everytime.
For me besides Hari and King Dave he is one of the characters that stands out in my mind.
It was King Dave that invited me to join HomeGaurd which began my foray into the world of gaming clans and indeed introduced me to a community of gamers with a mature approach to the game but at the same time a sense of fun and indeed moments of insanity. 😯
January 20, 2007 at 9:03 pm #43811TurksMeisterParticipantHomeguard was one of the best clans I think we ever played against… bloody hardcore they were.
Funny how all the old clans seemed to have fallen apart and yet XDC reigns on… *Turks goes off to touch some wood!*
I suppose it says something about our long winded and quirky selection process… and the fact that only a few can be bothered to leave! (And most come back anyway!)

Yeh, I entirely agree. As regards HG being Hardcore, obviously I thought so but it’s not for me to say and I appreciate you saying so.
I think from the old clans, that I can remember anyway, there is just you guys and the Hussars that are still going strong and I have to say I am very happy about it.
It’s good that after all these years parts of “The Community” live on and are still providing a place for fair minded idiot free gaming.

Funny that, quite a few of us are ex Hussars or Honorary Hussars. Take me

You ate our children? 😯
What kind of wierd tactics are those?
I mean, I can just imagine the tactical discussion.
“Turks!, you mine the north bridge and stop their armour coming across.”
“Doc!, you stay under the bridge and stop anyone trying to swim the river.”
“Old Phart!, you snipe anyone trying to walk over the top of the iron bridge and make sure before the end of the match you eat all their children. That should really get on their tits and give us a chance to fly over to their back flag and cap it while they’re distracted.”
Only an XDC’er could come up with a plan like that. The sad fact is you could have just wandered over the bridge because alot of the HG had a taste for toilet duck and would be passing the bottle around in the church on the back flag for the last half of the game. Especially capt rum, he had his own stash in the cabin on the airfield near the AA Gun.
Never used to share it either, tight Git.

Hehe, yeh that’s right, I’d forgot about that.
It used to get lonely on those nights out on the battlefield and of course then there was the initiation ceremonies. The goat was an important feature of the those. 🙄

Very well thank you mate 😀
As you’ve read, BF2142 has drawn me back into the world of online gaming, I have to say I think it rocks. Especially when you are playing alongside people that understand what teamwork is.
Unfortunatly, that can be a pain when those people are on the opposite team as well and proving to be very effective in ruining my day and my squads (no names you know who you are). 8)
January 22, 2007 at 8:45 am #43823XDCiNSANEParticipantAlreet Tom.. ltns!

It’s was just my nickname at school and when I have used it as my email and forum Monikor ever since. I have to say, I have no idea why Martyn became Marv and then Marvlin.
I’m just glad it didn’t turn into Marty or Marvy or maybe even Mary 😯
