OK server rented. We missed out on the free match server thing but I’ll have a word with Gonzo. Total price was £122 and a few pennies over 6 months. So that’s £20.33 monthly. The TS server has already been rented via multiplay, so no voice comms were taken up through rackage. Server should be online tomorrow, and I’ll provide the details for that once I have them. Be patient though as I’m at work until 6.
One thing I’ve been trying to figure out is the best way to manage donations towards this as I’m not exactly a fan of paypal charges, but that may be the best way for now. Anyone else got a better suggestion?
other than sending a cheque or I can do it thru BACS via internet banking.
I’ll donate a months worth.

Just as a quick follow up, I asked Gonzo and the match server thing has become impossible for them to implement as EA have not given anyone the ability to run an unranked server yet, and they don’t think this will be released anytime soon. They have however reduced the price of normal servers though since this revelation.
In other news, Gonzo’s emailed the main man to bump our server request up the queue, and we could quite possibly have access to it before the night’s out.

One thing I noticed today is, even when i clear all the filters and there are players on the server ( well Max on his lonesome) I couldn’t get the server to show in the browser, even with every filter off.
No one is going to join a server they can’t see. The non XDC guys in the server last night were from my friends list, so they could see it in the com centre.
Is there a custom settings filter and do we show? We have customised our.setup by reducing players required to start
Nope, there is nothing checked in the filters, and loads of other “custom” servers are showing up….even empty ones.
I’ve had a play around with every setting I can find and still can’t get it to show up on a normal unfiltered or even filtered list, so I’ve given up. I’m awaiting a response from Gonzo on msn, but if I’ve not heard back I’ll raise a ticket.
I ran a quick search for Rackage branded servers as well and found only 1, so it may be something to do with the hosting. May also have something to do with release day being tomorrow.
Gonzo says the server list we’re presented with when we search is random, and that it won’t necessarily show there everytime. I’m far from convinced since none of us have found it yet randomly, but I guess we’ll try it again tonight and see.
