Im looking at getting some software to sort out my pictures Ive got on my system.
Im looking for something that will let me sharpen, airbrush, edit….etc etc……….. Basically do everything to a photo that is possible!!!!
Any good stuff out there? ๐
Free? GIMP is probably the best, although I use PS2 (but it is expensive…)
If you want other stuff like noise reduction etc (as in dedicated programs) then let me know.
My mate and parents use a program called picassa… not sure how good it is, but my mates says its ok… and I think it is free.
I am learning how to use Paint Shop Pro…. which was also free…!
You can get Picassa free from Google – just go to the “More” page from Google’s main page. It’s typical Google-ware – looks great, and does the basics well. Not looked at in a while so I don’t know how it currently stacks up.
I mainly use Photoshop Elements v4, and have found it really good for all my needs so far. I’m barely scratching the surface of what it can do. It’s about รฦรโรยขรขโยฌร ยกรฦรขโฌลกรโรยฃ40 – v5 is out now but not found a reason to upgrade.
I’ve heard good things about Gimp – used an early version briefly but found the UI to be lacking compared to Elements.
Paintshop Pro you now have to pay for, I think. Looks like Turks needs an eyepatch airbrushing in on his face ๐
another prog called neat image pro for tidying up stuff. you can use it as standalone or incorporate it into your photoshop plugins. Been using Photoshop since version 1. (3 floppy disks lol) and as mags says. Photoshop FTW ๐
oh the other thing you might want to look at is Adobe Photoshop Lightroom beta 4.1 which is a free download from http://labs.adobe.com/ – it streamlines your photoshop work flow and is bloody clever shit – you dont need photoshop and it is a fraction of the size of photoshop – have a look at it
