Just had a bit of a moral dilemma… wondering what you guys would have done.
In a club… trying to get drunk enough to dance to ‘dance’ music (for some reason ‘dance music’ makes me stand around, looking like a complete eejit!)… go to the bar, and que for ten mins or so.
See an aquaintence – know him from a class, but barely ever spoken to him – hes obviously off his tits… so ignore him… ten seconds later, he seems to be in the middle of a fight, being lain in to by some skin head dude (no offence to skin heads!) with tats all over arms (again, N.O.!). So I do what I presume any guy would do in my position – and try to stop this big fuckin skin head from hitting my boy – getting him in some arm lock type thing.
Anyhoo… he decides, that he really wants to punch my mate Gaz, and the only way to do that, is to Lamp me in the face a couple of times… which he does (I craftily block a couple of blows… fuck knows how, but he still smacks me a couple of times)… basically from there, the bouncers nick him, and ask me over… Do I want to press charges?… they advise me not to (Presume best for club), as apparently the same situation has come up before, and although it is on CCTV, because I have no marks on my face, it wouldnt stand up in court… However… from what my mates have told me – the dude I was trying to save (Gaz), was stopping the bastard skin head chap from hitting some young lady….
So… would you press charges? I didnt… and am regretting it… Should I be? What would have happened to him? Apparently he is a bouncer himself… which adds more reason for me to have done the dirty on him.

Do you have all the facts? Maybe the so called ‘young lady” was his girlfriend who went and nobbed his mate, caught a dose of galloping nob rot and gave it to him.

Would I have pressed charges? Probably not.
I think if you’re going to listen to anyone’s advice it’d have to be JuDgE-MenTaL’s as I think his name implies he’s good at judging things.
Press charges? Nah. Basically the only evidence you’ve got of what happened is what the club has, and if they’re not feeling co-operative it’ll make it harder to get it taken any further. You’ll just end up wasting your time and that of everyone involved for probably little more than the police having harsh words with the skinhead.
Although if the guy was hitting Gaz, shouldn’t he be pressing charges? Maybe have a chat with him.
Besides you did your bit. You broke up a fight between two guys in a club long enough for the bouncers to turn up and put a stop to it. By the sounds of it nobody else had the minerals to wade in, so it was a good job that you were there.
Pressing charges wouldnt do anything anyway mate. He would get a slap on the wrists and told hes been a naughty boy and shouldnt do it again. (untill hes in a pub again)
When I used to work on the door, I seen to many tossers get carted of by the Police only to turn up 3 hrs later wanting another good kicking, which we where glad to give him. (god, sometimes i really miss working on the door)Im with the Judge and with Neon mate. You did the right thing by stopping the fight. Thats all you should do.

No don’t press charges, you’ll probably just end up with a world of shit decending upon your head, but as he hit you.
you could findout how much it is to have him kneecapped, its about รฦรโรยขรขโยฌร ยกรฦรขโฌลกรโรยฃ25 per knee round here, or (this is a bit more unrelyable, type of chap you have to deal with) for a rap or two of heroin, have him bummed. ๐ฏHmmm this may of been better in the private section ๐
I was thinking that nothing would probably come of it – but him apparently being a bouncer himself, and the fact that he was smacking a young lady (apparently – I didnt see that bit)… made me think I should – especially since it was on CCTV and my mates also saw it.
However – turns out I was about to get pretty fucked – I really hate dance music… and to cope, I had just downed 5 girly bottles (On top of 3 pints of premier 1664, a jack and coke, and three coctails – Fuck im hardcore!)… in the space of about ten mins… So I was still sober, but at time of writing message, I was hammered! Not sure a police man would really like me dribbling on him all night!
I do have a tasty brooze on my chin …and look like a hero… so Im happy!

The more people who don’t bother reporting, the more these guys will do it because they know they will get no come-back.
Maybe he had a right (or reason) to hit those other people, but that doesn’t mean he had any right or reason to hit you – if anything you was doing him a favour so he would get GBH instead of ABH if he kept at it.
EVen when it does get reported and fuck all happens because of it, atleast you can say you did the right thing and if the cock does it again it would escalate his offence the next time around ๐
leGit is right about him at least having escalated charges so if he goes around punching women the next time then this evidence could help put him away for a bit or at least make him more wary that he could be put away. perhaps you should try and find out if he already has a record for this kind of behavior. I dont know. I was going to say no dont bother as fights are a part of going out in the UK. If this is Cheltenham I remember a particularly wierd episode there in a club almost 20 years ago on acid and just dancing about. Next thing I know theres a guy lying next to me in a pool of blood and some other bloke standing over him with a retractable kosh. I just thought..Oooh this must be what Cheltenhams like and carried on dancing.
As this guy is a bouncer Im more enclined to take that into considderation as God help the next club he works atas mentioned i’d be surprised if much was done if you did report it
i know someone who attacked another with a bottle and they wlaked away tagged for their troubles. No sentence (well suspended sentence)

Turns out the guy I was rescuing was so pissed, he didnt even remember being at the club in the first place… He had no idea where the bruses on his face had come from!
Decided in the end that if the young lady had wanted to press charges, then I would hace backed her story up… but as I was, it wouldn’t have done much.
