The authoress of the book decided to find out roughly what life was like as a man, so with a rather natty disguise, weight training and a voice coach Norah Vincent spent a year masquerading as Ned, a regular blue-collar guy.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, although it does repeat itself a bit, since it’s like a third party assessing what it’s like to be a man, and not in a shallow ‘beer and birds’ kind of way. ‘Ned’ has to join a bowling team, get a job, chat up ladies, go to a monastry and even go to one of those new age men’s groups.
Worth a read.
