after hearing mucho moaning about lag on your TS last night i wonder if the MPUK guys installed the FPS boost service on your rig.
basically it makes sure the pc doesnt idle when the servers are running and keeps it ticking over at 1000fps
all you need to it drop this on the dedi and add it to startup folder. then run it.
and no before anyone asks you dont need this on your home pc and it wont give you 1000fps in game 😉

if you are pissed with MPUK, would the bill payer like to PM me with your current spec of dedi box and what there charging you.
how often you want to pay etc.
i will do my best to get you the year pricing and a simular or better rig for the money.
you get remote desktop unless you want a ranked server, then i take over the remote side and you use the control panel. but we let you setup the box how you want (best to use our installers for the control panel admin side) then we do the rest 🙂
I’m sure pharty will know more, but i think it’s up for renewal in feb.
I’ve been dissappointed with multiplay for a while, but i thought the fact we’d got a dedicated box would mean a cure to the lag issues we’ve had with them for a while.Appartently not. It’s VERY poor service, especially when you consider the fact we’ve been with them for years, well as long as i can remember. 🙄
Fully agree with Beer on this,our previous set-up (not dedicated) performed better than what we have now, which is a crying shame.
looking at the fact that our servers are hardly ever populated, I was expecting a much better performance from the only part that has been used over the past few days, the COD4 oneThe TF2 server is the main one getting used a fair bit. Thats definately got more people on it than the cod4 ones have had from what I have seen
The tf2 server doesn’t seem to have any issues, and that’s even with my crappy connection. What could be different apart from the game? And I’m assuming here that people have no problem on other COD4 servers?
I have heard people moaning of lag on the Rats TF2 server and on our TF2 server, but I have never ever had an issue. I always get sub 20ms ping to both servers lol, yesterday with 3 of us on the rats server, it reckoned my ping was 6ms! probably incorrect but interesting.

Gonzo, I will get in touch soon. Moving to Rakage has been in the back of my mind for some time, so I will check with the rest of the lads and then get back to you.

and Rackage are good, occassional issues but we’ve been very happy with them over at Rat towers, especially as Gonz is now tech help for them 😉

I take it we have better control over our server?
e.g I am having a right hassle trying to get the new version of Beetles Admin mod for TF2 put on by MPUK. and also adding things like decals and custom sound files is a right pain!
We have to use this web based program to setup our servers and so on, how is this done at rackage?
Also gonzo is on holiday this week so you wont hear from him!
u get full windowz remote desktop, if you have ranked games we ask u to set it up and then we remove remote to compy with ranked games 🙂 times up i gtg 🙁
Do you mean we have to load the game on too as if it was a spare PC at home you wanted to make into a game server?
no lads, we have control panel and i have just installed a dedicated cod4 on our box.
trouble is i dont have time to go through all the settings so its a default server at the mo.
obviously once back im going to see if a dedi is spare and will get it set up on a test for you, in the mean time i will pm u the details, so long as its not thursday running 3 servers shouldnt cause any issues as server load will be low.
if all 3 are packed it may well lag, unsure at the mo tho.
will email a login and details for you to test soon. only got 20 mins internet as i got no more euros !
