I’m curious to know what the first ever video games you played where.
For me I would have been around 5, I remember playing the original Lemmings and the original Prince of Persia, also vaguely some kids puzzle games with a bear on the moon.
I never had any consoles, but I did have an Atari Lynx with Paperboy, California Games & Gates of Zendocon (<-- Which kicked ass) First internet multi-player game would have been Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2, on the MSN Zone. A good game that was made awesome by 3rd party maps and mods. <3 JHS & SBX.
January 9, 2008 at 11:18 pm #64189Beer_MonsterParticipant1st game i ever played was pong, i think my old man still has the console up in the loft even now.
But what really gave me the gaming bug was Elite on the BBC. That game was sweeeet. 🙄

January 10, 2008 at 6:55 am #64191XDC wild egg tamerParticipantprobably like beer, it was pong sometime in the 70’s………after that it would have been other titles on those early consoles then onto spectrum and commordore 64 games.
January 10, 2008 at 8:39 am #64192TurksMeisterParticipantOther that the stuff on the bbc (Frogger etc), what got be initially hooked was Warcraft 2 and the Command and Conquer Series. In terms of FPS, it was RTCW in 2000 ish… followed by Medal of Honour, and then… BF1942…
Thh… the BF series bores me a little now :(… COD4 makes is da bomb! (COD2 was sexy too!)
January 10, 2008 at 8:57 am #6419311thSignalParticipanthumm for me it was pong on a consle called a Binatone something or other back in the 70’s then moved up to the oric,spectrum,vic20,64,atari the amiga etc etc

January 10, 2008 at 10:37 am #64195SilverSidesParticipantFirst game was frogger on a friends Acorn and then got a C64>Amiga, ahh good old days.
First online game was called Airattack (which is still being played 10 year on) and played on Wireplay 56k 1pence a minute, the fecking phone bill 😯
I spent way too much time playing Elite and Civilisation
January 10, 2008 at 10:55 am #64196xdc the docParticipantMy first computer was an oric – fave game was a shoot em up space invaders styley called ultra. First multiplayer games were me and a mate hooking our Amigas together. First online game way homeworld (I was signed up to wireplay as well funnily enough.) BF42 was the main one for most of us here though i guess.
January 10, 2008 at 1:13 pm #64197AlzirKeymasterFuck knows what you call the first games we ever had, they were on some early console which got nicked when I was about 4 or 5 🙁 Something with tanks and submarines is all I can remember. Used to play paperboy a lot at my mates. Lemmings, and prince of persia I remember as well, though they might have been on our first pc around 89….actually I’m quite similar to you Kippo. First online game was team fortress, followed quickly by Jedi Knight 2, which was where XDC started. It was all downhill from there 😉
January 10, 2008 at 1:47 pm #64198xdc magickerParticipantlol – our old man got a pong game for xmas in the late 70’s great stuff
shortly after that we got our zx81 (with the 16k expansion pack!!)- loved the game catacombs on that
then came the 48k spectrum – penetrator was my fav with favorable mention to manic miner oh and combat lynx – though we had loads of ‘fun’ typing in basic code from magazines to create some really crap games.
Somewhere around here we had an atari console but the only game i can remember is empire strikes back.
then came the +2A spectrum -Chaos, (http://wikihost.org/wikis/doodleblog/wiki/chaos_wars.. sort of. better still.. http://www.alt-tab.net/games/chaos/download/), lazer squad (http://freespace.virgin.net/william.fraser/LaserSquadIndex.html)and rebelstar (http://freespace.virgin.net/william.fraser/RebelStarIndex.html) ruled on that!
then came the sam coupe.. which history forgot.. for good reasons.. still in the atic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAM_Coup%C3%A9)
then came the amiga 600 .. BLOODWHITCH rocked!! http://bloodwych.classicgaming.gamespy.com/
then came the PCs .. DOOM!!! (via a serial and then a parallel cable) Wacky Wheels 🙂 and the rest as they say is history… Deus Ex.. Ghost recon

XDC has been going since JK2 :O Pretty impressive that its still going after all that time.
You could have had clanwars against the mighty Kippocrap clan which I was the founder of! Was about 10 at the time, can kind of tell that from the clan name 😉
EDIT: LOL my old website is still up! http://www.kippocrap.150m.com
January 10, 2008 at 7:50 pm #64200AlzirKeymasterheh we didn’t really do clanwars, just generally wound up people who called themselves jedi master, sith, padawans, etc, and worse (I tried out for Jesus’s Jedi’s once; they’d actually stand around in a circle before a game and type prayers). Those were the days .
We quickly moved onto the slightly more sane world of Rogue Spear.
