As I am newly single with a child to support and skint but with a new machine soon to arrive I have made a list. Basically, I’ve missed all the big games of the last 5 years so here’s what I reckon I should be getting…
BFBC2 (Well duh!)
Half-Life 2 (Orange box with all the extras)
Fall Out 3 (Heard Good things)
Rome:Total War (I heard Empire was pants & Napoleon is too expensive at present)
Arma II (Yes, I know but I was a massive OFP fan)
BF2for Forgotten Hope modBasically, what else should I be catching up on… fill me in chaps…. or are any of the above cast iron clangers to avoid.

Trials 2 SEDidn’t rate Fallout 3, its good but the clunky combat and dire 3rd person view took the shine off for me 😐

Portal is already on his list in the orange box – but yeah it is the best game of the past few years for sure.
I got into empire at first – but haven’t played it for months – might ebay it as there are loads of issues that the patches never really fixed. RTW is good but flawed with regard to archers… certainly kept me busy for a while though.
After being dissapointed with BFBC2 initially I am now getting into it after an awesome game with wolf last night. Lot of potential if people get on TS with it.
Company of Heroes. I have a copy if you want (got it with my new graphics card with the expansion, opposing fronts). PM details and I’ll pop it into the post.
I’ve got a copy of hl2 you can have (digital download over steam) but you won’t get portal with it so not sure if it’s worth while! Anyone else want it?
I still play company of heroes so we could give that a fling when you get the easter egg in the post

Spugs is being kind. Fallout 3 was godawful. Unless of course the idea of seeing exactly the same slow motion animation of a giant rat having it’s head shot off 10,000 times constitutes a good game.
Borderlands has more of the atmosphere of the previous Fallout games than the third one and is a good open world shooter to boot.
On PC I’d say Mass Effect 2, Call of Pripyat or The Witcher are worth a look.
My mate tells me GTA Iv is a mess on the PC, though it’s decent enough on the consoles. I preferred Saints Row 2 but that’s supposed to be a bad PC port as well.
A few people are playing Left for Dead 2… since I have litterally just bought LFD1, I have put off buying the sequal, but since it is currently £10 at game, I dont think I have any excuses for putting it off!

Bioshock 1 and 2 (play the first one first :D).
I also rate CoD MW2 but whether you’ll have time to play it once you experience BC2’s awesomeness is anyone’s guess 😉

Edit: I am so jealous of you. I wish I hadn’t played Fallout 3 yet so I could play it all over again without knowing what happens!
GTAIV was superb on Console, never played it on PC its not a game made for PC imo, that kinda game needs a 360 controller to play it properly 🙂
Game I’m most wanting is RDR (Red Dead Redemption) If you’ve not seen or heard of it, it looks fucking amazing, its from RS (makers of GTAIV) and is set in the wildwest, look it up, even if its just to see how the muscles on a horse work.. breathtaking
