So, I found something which looks remarkably like a diamond. Is there any way I can test whether it is a diamond or not, with out paying a jewler £30? I can then decide whether to hand it in or now, without looking like a plonker!
(I believe if you hand something in and it is not claimed, it becomes yours after 6 weeks… I did that with cash once and ended up £30 richer!)
use the £30 you found to pay for the diamond verification!! simples!!!!!!
failing that, scribe a circle in a sheet of glass on a jewellers window, use a suction cup to remove the newly cut glass and steal some real diamonds. also very simples!!
one last idea. Diamonds are effectively compressed coal. Set fire to it, if it burns then you know it was a real diamond, if it melts then it was fake.
