Dammit, I literally just bought the one on overclockers for slightly more than this. With postage it’ll probably not be worth returning it and too late to cancel. Afaik kingston is an ok brand too.
Oh and wtf with a finger fan max!

KeymasterBit of a nightmare evening for me today installing all the new kit I got yesterday, but holy fuck is windows loading fast now! – although my last build was really struggling for a few months so my perspective’s a little skewed.
Can’t wait to see how bf performs, but sadly there’s another damn 3 gb of data to download right after origin tells me BF3 is complete, so that’ll have to wait until tomorrow. New HD as well as the SSD, so the whole build is pretty clean atm, but I got some RAM as well, which I’m scared to install it atm, as I think I’m going to fuck up the overclock settings on this board by doing it.
I have an i5 which was from overclockers, and it was bought with them having oc’d it, but with the warning that installing extra ram will affect those settings. If anyone happens to know what I should be doing before installing it, please let me know, or at least let me know what the consequences might be of me doubling the ram while keeping the previous oc settings. I suppose what I’m scared off is burning something out.

ParticipantI bought an pre clocked i5 from OCuk and added another 4Gb RAM and i can confirm the OC setting are still good.

KeymasterWas your’s the i5 oc’d to 3.3 ghz, with 4 gb ram originally?
August 23, 2012 at 7:57 am #83324Beer_Monster
Participantoriginally 4gbRam & oc’d to 4ghz.
I also recall that if you lose the oc settings OCuk can send you a file to reset your BIOS settings to get the oc back.

KeymasterCool thanks beer, and ben too who reassured me at work today. I’ll stick the ram in and see how it goes.
