Just come back from the Bisley open day where I went with mee mommy!

Had a fucking awesome time, and seriously considering joining the NRA.

    We did –

Clay pidgeon shooting (first time ever) – think I got 5/10 – Mum got 6!

300 Yards Rifle shooting – first time got 15/25 and second time 17/25 – not bad since my contact lens fucked up and I was seeing double through one eye!! (Beat mother twice!)

Underslung (or something) rifle – like wot cowboys use – I got 40/50 mum got 42/50 – Grrrr!

And my best one… Check out that distance baby!!

Mum didnt do this one as she said it was too loud! You dont get the real target as its too far away!)

This was my first ever try – and it was fucking hardcore – I am so there next year!

Bloody hell – you’ll be joining the army next! Take Max with you next year and we can see if he is any good in the real-world.

Has anyone else noticed that the writing in red is a four letter word starting in C and ending in T. Was that what they thought of you Turks? 😈

Must admit target shooting always sounds fun but with the need of a FAC for any rifle over 12 ft/Ibs or pistols over 6 ft/Ibs I decided to buy an air pistol instead (well a Co2 pistol)

These aren’t too powerful so you can shoot them (carefuly) inside your house or outside. About 10 metres (32 feet) is a reasonable distance for the accuracy of the guns. Though i will be testing mine to see what kind of range it has.

    My new toy – S&W 586 6″

I am seriously considering getting an FAC, and joining the NRA… Its £320 for 4 sessions, and a years membership… and then after that you just need to buy ammo.

    I’ve got a 12ft/lbs air rifle

Pretty good fun, but my back garden is only about 30metres, wouldnt mind testing it up to 50m

Good website for such things is: http://www.airgunbuyer.com/

Must admit i had wanted an air rifle but would need to find a rifle range as my garden is tiny + the noise would upset the neighbours anyway.

The Co2 pistol is quite a bit louder than i expected 😕

My pistol was bought from here

Turks, how big was the target? And you were using a scope right???????

Also, what rifle were you using? That is good shooting at a 1000 yards

Your grouping is not bad, but you pulled number 4, was it wind or tension??

STICKLEDOWN RANGE – 1000 yards (NB This activity will be closed between 12:30 to 13:30)
Fullbore Match Rifle (Minimum age 14 yrs) 5 shots for £4
F Class (Minimum age 14 yrs) 5 shots for £4

Not sure if that answers your question – we used the less powerful ones – you had to have your left hand on a stand, which I did… he did say that the shot took about a second to hit the target – The dude who was showing me how to do it got quite excited about it… or he fancied me!

It was scoped, and I think the target was about 5foot high…

*Edit* It looked a bit like this!

I had a contact lens related issue – I could see double vision through one eye – very strange! Basically the crap vision stalled my shooting, and since I was holding my breath… I was wobbling a bit too!Stupidly took the shot and regretted it – especially at that price, you want all your shots to count!

I really want to get in to this – but am a bit confused with how the shooting licensing thing works, and where the NRA comes in – Do you shoot in this country Mr Bish?

7.62 mm target rifle most likely

and i hope it was done properly with iron sights and not telescopic jobbies :p

either way it is very nice shooting. thats a pretty impressive group from 1000 yards

Turks, I have not shot much in the UK yet, I am still trying to persuade the police to let me import my 12 rifles from Zimbabwe, very hard to justify the need to them. 🙁

Now that I have finnished my MBA I will be getting back into it, so will let you know when I find a decnet rifle club that is not full of twats.

Just tell them you want to cull the chav population – that should do it!

The dude who I shot with at 300 yards told me he had 12 rifles… you should become friends with him!

They were selling muzzle loading pistols in the gun shop for £75… I always thought they would be much more.
