September 2, 2007 at 8:02 pm #51433VicJamesonParticipantIt is based on true events. There really is a city called London, and there are people there 😉
September 3, 2007 at 6:18 am #5143411thSignalParticipantI must admit the last time I went to London most of the inhabitants just dribbled and grunted at me, so I’m thinking maybe this film is actually a documentry. 🙂
September 3, 2007 at 6:34 am #51435XDCiNSANEParticipantyou sure you wernt in a farm?
September 3, 2007 at 6:37 am #51436xdc magickerParticipanton a serious-ish note – it really pisses me off when films do not stick to their own internal constructs in the same way some authors add a new plot device in the last chapter – ruins the whole book! in this case everyone infected gets turned into a mindless eating machine except for no reason what so ever this one has a gps device in his head!
September 3, 2007 at 6:41 am #51437XDCiNSANEParticipantLOL joking aside I do have to admit I was a lil peeved at that bit meself.. how the fuck he kept finding them was very annoying! 🙂
September 20, 2007 at 7:17 am #51438four-aces deluxeParticipantAwesome film. Some real cerebral horror to go with the violence. The opening when he just ran and then looked back at the window with that music playing was one of the best scenes in a film ever. And the way his wife sealed her own gruesome fate with a kiss was grim.
Granted, there was some implausibility but these weren’t back-from-the-dead-zombies but humans infected with ‘rage’ virus and maybe Begbe’s family ties were strong enough to overcome the rage…. nah, you can’t justify it really but what a top film. Liked the Baghdad analogy too.
Much prefer the bleak, British [albeit Spanish directed] horror of these films to the usual Hollywood slasher stuff. Top stuff, especially watched in the dark with headphones.
September 20, 2007 at 7:30 am #51439XDCNeonSamuraiParticipantI watched 28 Days Later the other day to cheer myself up, and had forgotten how good it was. Will definately be watching 28 Weeks Later, just when the wife isn’t about to get freaked out.
September 20, 2007 at 8:26 am #51440sickofitallParticipantI saw the last 20 minutes of this again last weekend when I was at my mates. Hmmm, still the same old problem as the first time I watched it – Barely Legal Imogen Poots swanning around. It was even more frightening this time though because my mates all pointed out to my missus that I’d bagsied the bird and it has to be said that far from congratulating me on the foresight of my pimping powers ‘er indoors looked decidedly unimpressed, maybe even a little hostile. Still, tanking rights are tanking rights and that’s the main thing.
Unfortunately for “28 Weeks Later” we had watched “The Wild Geese” the night before and since “The Wild Geese” is the greatest film ever made “28 Weeks Later” paled into utter irrelevance in comparison.
September 20, 2007 at 8:36 am #51441XDCNeonSamuraiParticipantApparently the film ‘The Wild Geese’ is actually based on Pharty’s stag do.
September 20, 2007 at 10:14 am #51442TurksMeisterParticipantIs it like “Fly away home”?

Ahhh SOIA old chap, I bagsied Miss Poots when she woz in V for Vindetta, and then she woz 16, so I got 1st dibs, she has played the odd leading role in my nocturnal manipulations.
That said, I do wish I was 20 years younger, as then I would be a horny teenager instead of being viewd as a libidenouse, dirty older bugger.
Sigh, you cannot win as a bloke. When you are of the correct age to grab a teenage bird, you have no idea what you are doing. When you get to the age and experience where you can bring a bint off 5 times before you even get to the trot, you are too old fer the lasses… in proper circles of course

That said, I do wish I was 20 years younger, as then I would be a horny teenager instead of being viewd as a libidenouse, dirty older buggerer.
Sigh, you cannot win as a bloke. When you are of the correct age to grab a teenage boy, you have no idea what you are doing. When you get to the age and experience where you can bring a bint off 5 times before you even get to the trot, you are too old fer the rentboys… in proper circling of the streets of course
I’m so nice, I’ve corrected your mispelling
