Well i had access to the beta luckily as i had this game pre-ordered and i have to say i was extremely disappointed with it. Character creation was rubbish and the graphics in general were terrible and looke dreally dated. (maybe the release looks better?)

I loved the kotor games but this didnt feel anything like them for some reason. I started playing as a bounty hunter and did the first few missions, was basically just bad voice acting followed by some boring generic kill missions. Go to flashing thing on map, press 1 to attack enemies till they all die, collect reward, repeat for next mission.

I cancelled my order after about 40 mins of that. Maybe i should have given it more of a chance but i just so bored with it. I’ve sat through 40 mins of eve just jumping through gates and had more fun!

To me, that sounds a lot lik WOW. The problem with trying to create an MMORPG like WOW, is the fact that WOW exists. Even with strong IP such as star wars, they were always gonna struggle and I don’t see anything exciting and unique about this game.

I enjoyed both teh KOTOR games, but this game doesn’t interest me. Perhaps if it was free to play, even then, I probably wouldn’t bother with it.

I hate the idea of a RPG. Just give me a massively multiplayer star wars game where I can shoot the fuck out of whoever the fuck i want and people can fight to control territory. Without that, it may as well be a single player game.

For me the only reason to play an mmo is to be in one of the top 100 guilds in the world (wow for eg means completing endgame content well before 100 different guilds world wide have) without that mmos for me are pointless.
If your going to play an mmo if your not anally hardcore you missing out on the biggest part of the game. After being an officer in a top 100 guild in wow and pretty much pissing 4-5 years of my life away playing the farking stupid game i am reluctantly to play any mmo again. I could not play one casually and i refuse to let myself get hardcore on another mmo ever again.

Put it this way. Unless the endgame is epic and your willing to put almost your whole life into a game to be the best you can be and get into an amazing guild that will get through content before its nerfed to shit, there is no point in playing one.
No srsly unless any of you have played hardcore wow you really dont get how anally competitive mmo gaming is, its fucking retarded, i have seen people/ done myself run simulation upon simulation, number crunch over and over and over again with stupid amout of variables just to find out if xx would give a tiny tiny dps/hps increase. You have to know almost every mathematical answer to every boss/best setup used in order to be in a top 100 guild. It fucking sucks looking outside inward but dear god its so rewarding when you wipe for days nights weeks one time even months on a boss and finally get that first kill before millions and millions of other people.

It will end up the same some how. Ether through pvp or pve. The only reason people keep playing for any reasonable length of time is end game.

yeah thats very true, and is the reason i played eve for 7 years. not something i have done with any other mmo.

Eve online is a different class of game, there is nothing else like it. I’ve played it for 5 years on and off now and since the “end game” is entirely player generated, it is pretty awesome.

Agreed. Eve is the first and only MMO i’ve ever played (other then WoT which doesnt really count). The TOR beta was the first time i’ve ever tried a regular mmo so maybe eve has just completely skewed my perspective of what an mmo is all about.

It just felt like a single player game with a chat box. Didnt see the point in the whole multiplayer aspect at all but maybe you only get that at this so called “end game” everybody talks about.
