There – just saved you £400… I will take my 50% commission, and buy half a 24 inch monitor!

well can’t speak for any 24″ monitors but i bought the 22″ samsung 226BW and have had no problems at all with it. Good picture….erm just nothing wrong with it. If they make their larger monitors as good i’d be tempted with a samsung

like was mentioned. this isnt a monitor its a TV but with a good card it makes an excellent monitor. And No. you dont really see everything at once unless you move back a bit. But then again it’s like going to the cinema so I’m not complaining 😉

Was just wondering… does anyone use their monitor for work? Just wondering what it would be like to swap over to widescreen… as I am used to … err… square screen.

And if I ever get back to playing games… will the graphics on my 9800 pro look shit because the screen is bigger?

I wish I had £3000 to spend instead!

going to widescreen is like moving from 56k dial up internet connection to broadband…. you will never want to go back.
using a widescreen monitor for database work is a godsend especially if you are working on multiple spreadsheets. the other great thing about widescreen is that you can rotate the monitor so that it displays in portrait which again is great if you are working on a single long spreadsheet.

I used one of these as my monitor for a while until I got round to wall mounting it and using it with my media PC:

I found that FPS gaming on it made me want to honk unless I was sat reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaally far away, use the 19″ Dell TFT that came with the media centre PC instead now.
