KeymasterIt normally comes without cables turks because you’ll already have them in your case usually. You may need a SATA cable I suppose, but for power just look inside for what will fit the connector – wiring a PC is like a jigsaw puzzle, whatever fits is right. If you have another HD, nick it’s SATA cable so you can get started. Check your motherboard box or whatever you got from the PC manufacturer to see if you’ve any other spare SATA cables but if not, they’re not expensive.

ParticipantSo… it came, and is installed. Windows now takes about a minute to start up instead of the 6 minutes before, so an improvement, but slightly less than what I was expecting (but £40!!)
The in-laws (perhaps one day!) have been over for the past 3 weeks, so gaming time serverley limited, but will test it out fully on Sunday. Whup whup!

ParticipantWhere would I install antivirus etc? Old HD or New SSD?
September 22, 2012 at 11:04 am #83749Occa
ParticipantI have all my programs on ssd(space used atm 74Gigs out of 128). Old HD is the place for photos/movies etc shait. Personally haven’t used any antivirus software since moving to windows 7. Only its own security essentials.

ParticipantSooo… I am “Elastic Banding” all over the place, and it is thoroughly annoying – any help would be appreciated.
I have checked my connection, and it looks pretty good:
Could it be something to do with Port Forwarding? I am trying to find out the router password from my landlord, so can anyone suggest anything I should try first?
Cheers

ParticipantTurks, do the test in the evening rather than in the morning. i had loads of issues with Virgin during peak times when it was fine during off peak

ParticipantWill do… however I have played this morning (presumably offpeak) and I still jump around all over the place.

Participantthat may well be the cause. if possible never play any FPS/ fast pace action games over wireless.
be interested to know if that is the cause
