Clover is used commonly on “fallow fields” to regenerate the nitrates in the soil. It is generally on these fields that cows would be allowed to graze (they also add to the soil in their manure). Hence the association between clover and butter.

Im looking for a film that the gf loved but dosn’t know the name, hopefully you fine gents and ladies might recognise it.
Synopsis….from what she can remember….A writer is suffering writers block and starts to recieve letters outlining a story, he uses these letters as insperation to write a novel, over the months they fuck with his head a tad but he keeps writing. It transpires the letters are being sent by a convicted murderer and depict real life events.
The name of the film may contain…The Devil **something**, it’s definetly not The Devils Advocate as she was sure it was, i bought that today for her and well its not 🙄
Googled and imbd Devil films but no joy, any ideas?
I would have said Zodiac but that was recent… what about Letters from a Killer, 1998 Patrick Swayze?

any of these?
February 1, 2008 at 6:40 pm #57661VicJamesonParticipantJust been to see this with Tess. I loved it despite it being all handy-cam footage taken by people with inner-ear infections. I don’t want to be a twat, so here is some SPOILER warning.
SPOILERS AND SHIT!
[spoiler:1zdoicaf]I really didn't give much of a fuck about the characters, and without the whole introduction to them at the start the film it would have been a bit better imo. After all, nothing else was explained at all in the film, and nor was it needed. Big fuck-off monster attacks city, people try to survive and help friends, end of story, great. Marvellous effects, added little spidery-mosters, the Chrysler Building gets flattened (This seems to happen in most New-York based action films), people bursting and the army shooting big guns, does it get any better?
Well, another 45 minutes would have been nice. It seems extraordinarily short and I was wanting more once the film reached its slightly anticlimactic end sequence. I think at that point we had just been given a lovely helicopter's eye view of the destruction and it showed me what I was missing from this film, namely, the big cinematic sequences that are the blockbuster equivalent of a money-shot.
Overall, was it worth my anticipatory priapismic spasms? Yes, it mostly was, mostly. Added glee was gained for me because I went to New-York as a child, climbed up inside the head of the Statue of Liberty, walked over the Brooklyn Bridge and sheltered under bridges in Central Park, although when I was there it wasn't as exciting at it seemed at the cinema.[/spoiler:1zdoicaf]
I score Cloverfield: Fuck Yeah/10
February 1, 2008 at 6:46 pm #57662tessParticipantI agree with everything Vic said, but I feel the need to append a warning – this film could make you feel very ill what with all the shaky bouncy camera stuff. I had to close my eyes every now and then till my stomach stopped churning, and I was glad that the empty popcorn bucket was close at hand just in case.
Bloody good film though, and not overly gory but still very scary (yes, I am a girl, but Vic was scared too) but definitely too quick, I wanted more!
February 1, 2008 at 9:33 pm #57663XDCiNSANEParticipantJust got in meself from watching.. I agree.. a FUCK YEAH.. but.. as above, some of the camera shit.. was too much.. had to look away a few times.. maybe sit at the back 🙂
Oh I was a lil pissed that the fit girl wasnt asked to perform sexual acts that could have later been uploaded to pornotube.. ah well, appart from that.. brill filmage!
February 1, 2008 at 10:27 pm #57664VicJamesonParticipantOh, that spoiler thing is rather clever. Cheers for whoever did that 🙂
And yes Insane, more sexual acts were required, but then they always are 😉
February 2, 2008 at 8:33 am #57665XDCiNSANEParticipantNot a spoiler really but talking about the film Vic..
[spoiler:fen59r7w]Didnt you think the noises on the lil monsters was a tad shit? They sounded like them things you used to get moons ago.. I'm thinking of a long stick type thing with a crazy birds head at the top, you'd shake it from side to side and it would make this jibberjabber/wowahwowah noise.. someone must rememeber em!?!?[/spoiler:fen59r7w]
February 2, 2008 at 9:51 pm #57666VicJamesonParticipant[spoiler:1x9mn7d4]I know exactly what you're talking about, frighteningly, but I have to say it never struck me as odd during the film, only now you mention it. What struck me as more odd was that if the little fuckers were capable of taking on soldiers with guns why did it only take a few stamps from a chubby twenty year old to kill them?[/spoiler:1x9mn7d4]
February 2, 2008 at 10:07 pm #57667SilverSidesParticipantNah its not that Zulu but we’re going to rent that Letters from a Killer anyway because it sounds like a laugh.
Magicker i tried that and we read every bloody review, no luck.

February 12, 2008 at 10:59 pm #57670RyzoParticipantanyone seen that ‘its still alive’ thing?
http://youtube.com/watch?v=bXskaIJ7V0Q
Apprently, they recorded the phrase, ‘Its still alive’, rewound it, chucked in the static and put it in the credits at the end, ready for the sequel there apprently already making, and it just so happens to sound like ‘Help Us’ when played rewound.
People have been recording themselves saying ‘Its still alive’ and rewinding it, theres a vid on youtube or something, and apprently it sounds about right. who knows,
of course….it could all be bullshit.
which it probably is.
February 13, 2008 at 8:00 am #57671XDCiNSANEParticipant[spoiler:3v4ebwnv]Have'nt you just spoilt the film for those that aint seen it yet?[/spoiler:3v4ebwnv]
