September 20, 2011 at 12:21 am #74001airmessyParticipantI got it. Not played much tho, brushing up on my f1 skills for f1 2011, should get my copy on thursday. With the huge explosion of games out in the next few months cant see me playing ro for a while ether.
F1 out in a few days
Rugby challenge, bf3 and batman all out soon also.
F1 is going to have a hammering tho, looking awesome that is.September 22, 2011 at 4:14 pm #74002AlzirKeymasterI’ve sort of been pulled in two directions over this game, as it initially sounded good, then started looking overly complicated in it’s realism (eg the tanks), but in the end I was suckered by Steam and bought it for 20 quid the other day when they had that offer up. You’ll not see a lot of me playing this likely, but I’ll be giving it a try over the next few days.
How are you all finding it so far?
September 22, 2011 at 5:44 pm #74003XDCMADMAXParticipantBF3 <--- THIS WAY
September 22, 2011 at 10:43 pm #74004xdc the docParticipantordered it – should be here tomorrow i think
September 23, 2011 at 11:52 am #74005XDC_WolfParticipantI’m really enjoying it, been playing on the CD servers (nom’s RO clan) who are all decent chaps and have taught me a lot about the game, it is intense, hard and not one for the stat whores (you’re going to die alot, and the stat system is broken!).
I will say that I have not played a buggier game from the release (release was worse than beta for me!) but they have done well to fix stuff over the past week, and you have to say that they are a small company with an excellent record for supporting RO:O so I’m not worried except that it won’t be running as it could for a while yet and I’m worried it will be sorted when bf3 comes out, which will be a kick in the balls.
Doc asked me if I would still play this when BF3 comes out and I reckon I will but not as much! It is a different pace and atmosphere to BF, and each have their place, but I’m getting decent at RO now so it is not as frustrating as it first seems. The realism mode is not for casual gamers either!
Oh and if we can get some people together on TS playing this it would be awesome, see Insane has been playing it a few times of late, would be great if you got your arse into gear and sorted out a headset! Speak to Doc about stuff like that, he does the research so you don’t have to!
Doc, I did warn you but your going to have to d/l a load of patches for RO before you can play it, I would put the current ones onto disk but I no longer have a DVD burner!
September 23, 2011 at 12:08 pm #74006AlzirKeymasterThanks Paddy, I’ll maybe try it out this afternoon since i’m off work.

And do that with this months quota Doc because BF3 will surely have a large patch out shortly after release. I suppose you’ll maybe need this month’s bandwidth for BF3’s beta though.
September 23, 2011 at 3:08 pm #74007XDC_WolfParticipantand bc2 has an update apparently…
September 26, 2011 at 4:22 pm #74008crazy hippoParticipanti have been playing this a fair bit and am really enjoying it. i will jump on ts next time i load it up.
i think i saw Nom on one server but not sure. i will try and find the CD server and join that as well.
September 26, 2011 at 7:59 pm #74009xdc the docParticipantnice one hippo.
I am finding it confusing and frustrating… btu that is partly because that selfish cunt Wolf goes off to play with his ‘new friends’ all the time rather than help me.
Could be up for a game tonight?
September 27, 2011 at 10:19 am #74010XDC_WolfParticipantOi Doc, they helped me learn the game, but the only thing you can do when you start is take it slowly and learn the maps, I still get lost a lot but knowing where to run to and how to get there is one of those things that you should do to learn the game. It is one of the most rewarding games I have played in that the satisfaction of getting a long range kill and knowong how frustrating it is when it happens to you leads to a great sense of schadenfreude! Also teamwork is key, I thought you’d be better getting along with the teamwork than you were getting along when it was two of us in TS.
September 27, 2011 at 2:14 pm #74011crazy hippoParticipantlearning the maps is vital. understanding where the enemy are likely to be and moving accordingly as well as understanding the strengths and weaknesses of your current main weapon.
i wont be on tonight as im working late but should be on tomorrow

I have issues running it, plays fine at 40-50fps on med at the beginning of the round 10mins later down to 10 or less, after 4 weeks of trying to get it to run i gave up. Wasn’t overly impressed with some of the maps tbh, think Wolf and Doc still play.
