What fucking retirement, you think people our age will get to retire.
Face up to facts, were all going to be worked to death, people will join this new scheme and a few years down the line, the goverment will plunder it.I managed to get through that with out calling Chancellor of the Exchequer – Gordon Brown, a thefing jock puff.

ParticipantMan, Leicester is filled with that post-modern 60’s Architecture, and concrete monstrosities.
It is lame and they were all high when they thought of it.

Participantyoyoyoyo, Leicester is indeed full of weird buildings, but there are some truly beautiful ones, like the turkey cafe or Athena. Ok so two.

yeah, that’s true, but the Turkey Cafe isn’t an example of 60’s Architecture, it’s a lot older…. like the Grand Hotel. And inside they’ve made it look like some crappy contemporary version of the Big Brother house…
ahem* Not that I watch that show or anything… 😳

Participantthey are trying at least, the redevelopmentsw look okish (the Mercury buildings are getting revamped and the new shires development might be ok, although they seem to have knocked down St Peters lane car park and megabowl to build it, which I thought as quite odd. Anywy, I digress, whereabouts in Leicester are you?

ParticipantI am opposite Victoria Park, although I’m moving soon. Maybe out of Leicester, I’m not too sure yet.
The University on Victoria Park has actually won a few awards for it’s architecture. My mates and I used to bike round it when we were about 12, and nicknamed it ‘Delta City’…. y’know like in ‘Robocop’ 8)
I still don’t get what the fook the council are doing with the old BT building, y’know, the one by Time Bar & the Station.

Participantas reagrds the old BT building there’s a funny story involved there. THe guy who owns it was fighting the council for years to get it regenerated and eventually got permission last year and if you read the signs when you go past you will notice “no thanks to Leicester Regeneration” on them!
