Experts haven’t done shit – not like they get permission to break the law ๐ I had both of my crashes riding defensively, do you think they would seriously publish a report telling people to ride offensively? lol.
I do pretty much everything that article says, except I just don’t do it slowly all of the time – heck I’ve even stated to do half of that stuff several times in this thread so maybe you’re not reading??
I also don’t wear luminous jacket – not because I’d look like a twat, but at night it really doesn’t work and if they did, the people don’t look to notice them anyway. So umm. yeah….

Or maybe how 2 people from different points in time can touch without fucking up the continium? They say the same matter can’t occupy the same space, but technically 2 of the same people from different time periods are a) occupying different spaces, just in contact and b) it’s different matter; cells continually die and regenerate from different matter so even if they did touch, it’s not the same matter.
I have to say that motorcyclists are normally ok, most have the ability to pre empt alot of stuff motorists don’t, but that’s all down to the amount of vision they have and the finer control they have over their bikes. I have met a motorcyclist who tried to bully me into dangerously cutting someone up whilst I was overtaking on a dual carriageway once because he wanted to travel faster than me (I was doing a shade over 70 at the time). Thing was I saw him in plenty of time but couldn’t pull over to let him pass because there was a string of traffic on my left and not enough room. I would have speeded up had he not decided to ride within three foot of my bumper and signal for me to pull over and swear at me (at which point I decided that I wasn’t going to speed to let him get past. Thing is he probably thought I was a twat, and I can imagine him having a chat with Legit saying “these fucking motosrists don’t understand that we have more right to the road than they do because we are better than them”
Fact of the matter is that with comments like Legits I really don’t feel like making the room I normally do for motorcyclists to let them through, I feel that I should live up to his pessimistic view that because I have seen some twats on motorcycles I should now, in fact, speed up so that I can avoid hitting them, and I should not check my mirrors before pulling out on the reasoning that until I hit a motorcyclist, thats the safest way to drive, hell I should just speed through populated areas where there is a high chance of hitting a child because I haven’t hit one yet, so it must be safer.
Oh hang on a minute, that would make me a twat and a shit driver. I can also realise that whilst the majority of motorcyclists out there are law abiding and competent, there are always going to be knobs like Legit who demand the road to themselves. Personally I don’t want to have an accident of any sort, and I take great pains not to speed, except when overtaking foreign lorries on the motorway because they have a massive blind spot on their right hand side and I have known two people who have been in accidents due to it.

You’ve got to realise that a lot of people try to overtake but don’t actually move anywhere any time fast, the worst ones are the ones who overtake so slowly yet have no room to pull in, which makes you wonder why they bothered overtkaing in the first place ๐ I would have either flashed my lamps or if there was enough room gone right up the middle, but I wouldn’t have bothered swearing and I would have just grinned and beared it for the time being until lthere was space to whack the power on… On the motorways I’m more than happy doing 60mph behind the lorries funnily enough….
The worst of those kinds above though are the noobs in cars who try to overtake on the left when a car is waiting to turn right. They never had a fucking chance of fitting through, but if they opened their eyes before they blocked the route they would have noticed a bike could fit through…

Going fast in a car would be stupid, because it’s not like you can fit in between both lanes without hitting something?? Just too damned wide for it to work… same goes for avoiding pedestrians; they’re just to wide, whilst a bike can occupy a fraction of the road so it can more easily avoid pedestrians. Then there is the added weight and the reduced awareness of the general mongrol population… though the only credit I could give a car is they are a hell of a lot easier and faster to whack into corners and with all the gizmos they could make a shit driver look like they have talent. Worse are the retards in 4×4’s thinking they’re going to beat me because their car is worth more than my house – say I’m in the middle lane to go straight they either pull on left or right lane for turning then try speed ahead… but they were never destined to win, yet they still attempt to even with kids in the back…
One thing I do find funny though is what do you expect I do when the roads are clear? Thrash the nuts off them? Not really… no cars behind to ram me and no cars ahead to slam on their brakes and force me to ram them, so then I get to take it easy…. yet many times get some nub coming up the rear in their turbocharged fagmobiles when I’m doing 30mph then they pull out to overtake, but because I’m actually aware of wtf is going on I crack on the throttle with 1 hand and give them the finger with the other….
I don’t have a problem with the speed limit, it’s only when other vehicles are around mostly I go nuts… if anythign not just to have fun but to get to some clear roads/away from their deathtraps.

Driving home from work today from sunny skeggy, fucking wanker of a biker overtook outta nowhere doing at least 90mph in wet conditions into oncoming traffic, i had to brake like a cunt to stop from wiping him out as he cut me up……..car behind me was only a unmarked police car……PWN’D…..made me chuckle all the way home. ๐

obviously speed alone is not dangerous. Speeding when you are alone is only dangerous for you and (….here is the stating the bloody obvious bit …again) speeding in public is not only dangerous for you but everyone else who you may come into contact with. In some mad persons universe, that is a sensible argument. In the real world, however, it’s complete shite. For some reason he thinks that if you’re going twice as fast then you will be heard twice as far away. I would like to see the maths that makes that conclusion true…..

That’s funny as i’ve overtaken police vhicles in police livery with no trouble, though probably it’s because he was doing it in the wet which is a bit of a nono- especially considering bikes slip a hell of a lot more on the paint on the road markings. And it’s their fault for getting in the way, not for not getting out, can easily avoid them ๐

As for the world being flat, you can look at a globe and map a location with just longtitute and lattittude, so in a way as the locations are 2 dimensional it is? I believe sound intensity drops off at the reciprocol of the square of the distance if it is unfocussed.
Hmm not exactly my point. Going twice as fast can also be silent if you had a high gear with low revs. You can also go slow in a low gear with high revs, but then it’s not really fuel efficient nor good for the engine. Also a fair amount of the noise is focused ๐ And even wif/when the intensity does drop – is it droppign enough so that the increased revs are not making any impact to people’s hearing at all? There will always be more noise than no noise, so it’s still a bonus.
