I couldnt load my spray, was the correct size and so on, but had a problem loading vtex.dll and said to restart steam and see if an update was available for the game lol

here’s how I got it working.

log into CSS first to create it then copy over to TF2.
takes a bit of messing about but I managed it so anyone that knows how to wire a plug should be able to do it 🙂

no worries zulu, thanks for the games as always. Brilliant video jonny, that’s just what I did the other night when I started the high pitched giggle, minus the spray of course, but that would be the icing on the cake.
omg I’ve just had the most fun in a game since xdc’s glory days, ’42 and rs. The rats server was dying down for the night and 3 of us were left, I kept going scout and switching teams at the end of each round for a laugh, got the odd extra player joining but still was great fun even at that stage.
The best bit though was at the end, when one guy had switched to the heavy weapons guy and was 1v1 vs me, and we played the whole of Hyrdo against each other. It was the classic can brice lee beat Ali kind of fight, with neither of us going for a point until we at least killed the other guy. Awesome fun and a highly recommend it for anyone on late some night in a similar position. Bruce Lee won, but my god was it close! Kudos to McCourt74 incase he ever finds his way here 🙂
Been readin this post for ages.. if i wanted to play do i just buy the game?… keep seeing people talkin bout steam etc..
Only game i have ever played online is the BF series!…(apart from a couple of Total Annihilation.. back in the day!).. sorry if im talkin like a n00b muppett but thats what i am!

You need steam with all these half life games. You can buy TF2 through steam for 15 quid apparently, or you can buy it as part of a box set called the “orange box” on the high street for anything up to 35 quid. The orange box inculdes episode 1 and 2 of HL2, as well as TF2, and also a nifty wee game called portal (well worth trying). If you don’t already have half life two, just shout and someone will be able to gift it to you, though you’ll have to download it through steam.
The orange box can probably also be bought through steam but it would be virtual and probably not orange.

but I’d recommend the orange box download for £25
Five brilliant games for £25! great thing with Steam too is they are yours forever as Steam keeps all the licence info for your account, if you change computer or anything just download them again. 🙂
Yes the steam thing does work rather well. I paid about £17.50 for TF2 download from steam by itself (theres $5 trax ontop of the $30 price), but the game is well worth it. I saw you can buy the Orange box from like play or the like for £25 delivered so might be better value.
I already have HL2, CS:S and HL2 EP1 and TF2 is what I was interested in getting so I just got that game.
Wolf, to change your in game name, you need to click on the my control panel link under your name in the friends list. Then on the window that opens there is an Edit SteamId link, then you just change your SteamId to whatever you want and click the apply button. job done.
I will have to get HL2 and CS:S installed then to get my spray sorted hehe, I did remember reading about TF2 using and odd format for the sprays.

last night was fantastic fun, i think that TF2 has put the fun back into online gaming for me.
Yeah beer seems to have found Max’s hax for BF and adapted it for use in TF2 lol. He seems to be excellent at owning everyone!
