wolf – i am not trying to make this personal – you can suggest what you like – i just dont agree with you on this one – its not a problem

i dont get to play all that often these days but when i get an hour here or there i hear nothing but good natured banter and a load of blokes playing thier game fairly with not shit. no one team killing for vehicles, spawn raping or any of the other crap we dont tollerate.. quite frankly what more could we ask for?

ok a closed xdc only session of snipers and knives would be a laugh now and then but quite frankly 5 people pissing off to hve a jeep race around the map like they used to do in the old days always pissed me off.. how can we play and have fun when 4 people (normally on the same side) decide to have their own little bit of fun and sod those trying to play the game

It may seem selfish to you guys that some people don’t play it your way all the time, that sometimes some people will go off and do their own thing on a map, but stop and ask yourselves, are you not being selfish by insisting we have the same games every night, not allowing people to enjoy themselves in whatever way they see fit? Hell it’s not as if we’ve ever locked the server down on our own back and enforced people to have fun, it’s just that the occasional times some people go off and have a jeep race there is a general feel on TS that we are ruining the game for everyone else. Well guess what, serious gaming every night has ruined the game for some people, we have memebres who don’t play BF2 anymore because it’s the same every night.

Whilst I agree that the bannning of 1stBW was a little out of left field it at least got some debate going and has highlighted some issues which have been brewing for some time.

In my memory there has only ever been a handful of occasions that a jeep race has been held during a game and they have been fun for those involved. Now if this was happening on a nightly or even a weekly basis and people were generally ignoring the game then I could see your point, but they don’t, they are a rare occurence that happens once every so often, and when they do you can almost hear the tuts from some XDC members. Feck it, 99% of the games are as you describe, great teamwork, sensible play, but look at the server rotation, Karkand 32, Sharqi 64, oman 16, mashtur 64, God damn, I actually changed the map to Zatar 64 last week because I HAD NEVER PLAYED IT BEFORE. The maps are all based around what some people want, infantry infantry infantry, I enjoy flying occasionaly, but because people don’t like to be bombed all the time by messy and others then I rarely get to fly on our server, not to mention that it’s well nigh impossible to get in a plane when 1stBW are on.

I am sick and tired of BF2 on the XDC server, it is as far removed from XDC as a server that allows team killing, base raping, stat padding, etc. (IMHO), and just because those who have practically disappeared/stopped playing BF2 because of this don’t post about it doesnt’ means that it’s not an issue.

Face it, the server is run as it is for those who want to play that way, I have no beef with that, but why the resistance to a little change? Why the dissaproval of those having a bit of fun. Oh wait, no I know, it’s not YOUR idea of fun therefore it can’t be fun.

Actually Paddy I agree with a lot of what you have said here. What happened to the Euro Forces Nights? think they were in the rotation twice then the patch came out and back to the same old rotation again. 😥

if so many people have wanted the server locked or a ‘fun’ night only than why hasn’t it happened. Who is ‘we’ and ‘they’? If theres enough of us who want a piss about night once a week then go for it. Wheres the problem?

Personally i like to play the game – i (usually) find that fun (though we do need to look at the map rotation and insert some other maps between the server fillers. I would still have a look in to jeep racing etc for a bit of a change.

I’m sorry, just read this. Messy got moved by me a few times, just as I have moved various people and have been moved and kicked myself. immature, yes. Funny, yes. TBH every one gets moved back after about 20 seconds, if Messy thinks it’s him I’m victimising then he has a God complex. Ask Batesy, do it to him all the time, and guess what, he finds it funny. I was speaking to Batesy on sunday pm, then the server went quiet. Half an hour later I discovered I was on a different channel on my lonesome 🙁 I re joined Bates & told him to which he replied wolf does that alot to me and it can be annoying.

Personally I did not find it amusing and if it Bates wasnt as friendly I would not have rejoined the TS channel in case I had been moved because I had caused offense to someone who didnt have the balls to say something to me at the time.

I always try to play as you are aware, Im very pleased when I get kill such as max. But it is a game. When I start to feel annoyed I come off the computer(or gotta let phil have a go).

Everybody has their own idea of fun and surely in amongst it all a common ground can be found.

Well as I have already said I’m not around as much as I used to be with other commitments but seriously there needs to be some give any take here.(and i dont mean in a ghey sexual way either) Is it really worth us falling out with each other over a game?

We have already lost a few XDC peeps from the regular gameplay on the server this is becoming silly.

Due to other commitments I will unfortuately be frequenting the server less and less over the coming months, coupled with some of the points I raised earlier. I won’t be hanging my tags up will still post on the forums but probably less frequently than before.

How can something that is supposed to be fun become so damned divisive amongst us?

There are a lot of points that Wolf has made that I totaly agree on, TS being the main one. It is quite. Wheres all the fucking around , the farting, the singing, the snoring….. it dosnt happen anymore.
When it was 42 or Nam we used to have jeep races all the time and no-one cared in fact everytime there was one people were fighting to get a jeep. Where are all the knife fights, and I mean the fun knife fights again they dont happen anymore. This is all getting really stupid. If we want to mess around then we should be able to do it. Its our server and if others dont like it then there are plenty other servers out there.

I stopped playing the game last year cause I was bored and the game wasnt fun anymore, I was persueded to rejoin and for a small period of time it was getting back to normal, the XDC I joined but now its going back to all serious again. Where peeps are only interested in points and medals and getting the next unlock.

Wolf if you stick around lets make it our mission to make it fun once more!!! And as stated if they dont like it then let them find another server!!!

As for Teamspeak I believe it should be left alone. If you dont like listening to someone then mute thier mic.

Some of these BW guys are getting people wound up one way or another, but as was agreed give em time and they will either change or fuck off.
