    i’ve been using a mates PC for time, he is now flatmate and wants it back sharpish (he been using his mums lol).

    gotta drop to a piii 733mhz/192mb/compaq crap fora bit so need a barebones system really i think asap (cba to build it outta components).

    bit outta touch with all the new stuff, so a bit of advice if u please.

    now all i wanna do is play poker & unreal tournament 99 & plug in a copule of ide disks… got monitors/mice/speakers etc jus need a base

    can put battlefield on hold for a while not overfussed, but later on i can stik in more ram ana pci gfx card and im running yeh?

    this would cut it till i wanna spend a bit more basically is all i’m asking + does anyone know a better deal etc, i’ll goto £300 not made of money atm.

    any comments/links (UK) welcome, tx.

    ps. dont need a writer really use daemon tools + nevr burn (can lan/xfer to a burner pc anyway).

    Personally I’d go to Scan and buy this:

    Bare Bones Shuttle PC: £91

    It’s just a case and mobo really so you’d need a CPU:

    Pentium 4 531 – 3GHZ: £45

    Memory:

    512MB Elixir DDR2 £25

    Then you’ll need a graphics card, Hard Drive and an optical drive of some sort. It might work out slightly more expensive than the one from overclockers, but it’ll be far more upgradeable(i.e. the CPU I chose is the a cheap single core one, you could by a dual core chip in a years time). Same goes for the memory and the graphics card. Also, check this out over at Tomshardware.com:

    hehehe , i was mashup, sank 8 stella + playing 3x tables.
