Damn, I’ve spent less than 600 quid on my pc over the last 5 years and that includes the games bought! Still runs everything pretty well too.
How crap was yours not to be able to run a football management game though? All you need for that is a cpu and some ram.
I dunno what superpowered PC games I’ve been missing I have to say.
My Pc is 4 years old, cost me 450 quid and it runs everything. Even ran Crysis at medium/high settings.
The only thing I had to update was about a month ago when I got a new graphics card for 90 quid and I only did that because I had driver problems with the old card and it was so ancient it was no longer supported on the ATI website – and that was the card that I’ve played everything on until now.
All I see on PC these days is Xbox ports so no PC has been out of date since Nov 05, save for a very few PC only games.
If I get BFBC2 (and it’s a bif if, cos the first one was decent enough but didn’t seem that spectacular to me) then I’ll be on the PC with this one. Keyboard and mouse everytime for this type of game.
Plus I get to click on my Firefox icon on my PC and am sent immediately to hundreds of examples of the finest art known to mankind which I can passionately appreciate with enthsuiam and gusto. No console can offer me such high brow entertainment.
I was actually planning on going PC with this one but if the majority go xbox…
Given the number of us I’ve seen playing MW2 recently on steam, I think the majority of us are still on PC. I had thought the split was 50 50 until recently, but it’s probably more like 60 40 in favour of the pc.

Forgot to mention, theres a PC open beta for this coming December.. then Demo for all formats early 2010
News trickled out of DICE yesterday that cleared up the situation with the PC Beta. Here is what they had to say:
We wanted to update you, and slow the flood of tweets, on questions surrounding the BFBC2 PC Beta being cancelled. I’ll get right to it and say “the BFBC2 PC Beta is not cancelled”. Now this all started due to changes made to an earlier blog that removed the PC Beta from the details and the reason for this was the plan changed. With the huge success of the PS3 Beta we decided to drastically increase the PC Beta’s capacity to insure as many people as possible could participate. Unfortunately this meant we had to delay the Beta to very early next year giving us more planning time to make it happen and implement more optimizations.
Here is a recap of the current PC features, and we can now confirm DX11 support with more details to come later!
PC Enhanced Features
• Up to 32 Players on PC (24 on consoles) – Play with up to 32 players online in the biggest multiplayer Maps in Battlefield. Each with a different tactical and gameplay focus set across a variety of environments.
• Full DirectX 9, 10 & 11 Support – Immerse yourself in the Battlefield world as Frostbite engine brings tanks, planes, and explosions to vivid life on your PC. The game will fully support Windows XP, Vista, and 7 with new tech that further improves things like lighting and shadows.
• Enhanced Gameplay – The PC version also includes wide peripheral support like Joysticks for flying, NVDIA 3D Vision, Logitech LCD Keyboards and VoIP Support plus a variety of specific features tailored for PC play.
• Friend Support – Find your friends online with the new buddy list to see if and who is online so you can quickly join their game.
• Dedicated Ranked Server – Everyone gets non-stop action with no connection penalties based on some other player’s internet. Ranked Server Provider program will give players opportunity to rent their own server(s) located in professional grade datacenters, ability to modify settings like map rotation, create reserved slots for friends or clan members, kick & Ban players, and custom name your ranked server.
• Clan Support & Private Servers – Independent Clan Tag, and ability to rent servers for hosting and controlling private password protected competitive servers with expanded control over the settings from public ranked servers.
• PC Squad Play System – Updated from previous Battlefield PC titles now gives control of your squad before heading into combat.

Aye, shame he never plays em 😉 ha *edit* Hactually your news is plop and upsetting, you failed to mention it’s been Delayed till next year! *shock there from EA who delayed BF1943 for PC also* How can they bring both 1943 and BFBC now for around the same time, no one will get 1943 over BFBC2, not this late I dont reckon
Darn… Planes, looks like they are making it different to other, I’m sold. Will concentrate on the PC version, until some fecker says OMG how good does it run on a DX11 card L33bZoid compared to my 7800whateveritis! I want to resist the temptation to spend monies!
Cant wait for you BF fans who have not played this to try it, considering you still like BF2, this will blow you’re socks off.. It’s A Trillion times better than any COD game in my eyes.. GAME ON!
